Erm, to my dedicated lurkers, i just realized we have a view of the Big 3, so putting up screenshots of them now.
And that ends turn 3 =)

The key in FFH is stay focused, there are so many things that are nice to have you end up diverting form the essentials . You want Wizards. Focus on expansion and growth, then the necessary techs. I thought your RoK detour was a good idea for Stoneskin, but after that...just build more Adepts. You're Arcane, it takes you 2-3 turns to make up one missing mana source. It takes many turns to detour for another relgion, not to mentoin the GP necessary for the Shrine. Remember...Wizards :fireball:!

Oh ohhhh but i might want astronomy for arcane barges you know how shiny those are and i can get those 3 islands easily with arcane barges and they cast fireballs so they're magical ships~
Haha, Order was more of a joke rather than a long-time goal. Once i get RoK, i'll beeline Sorcery, than Arcane Lore. If order still remains unfounded, then i'll think about it.

With regards to the Big 3, they just gave everyone vision on them, and they're all out on islands covered in jungle with other ridiculous resources? Fascinating.
Of course, the easy solution is probably blaze it and come back later hoping nobody else has... but it's probably also a distraction. (Fire is frustratingly slow.)

Is there a coastal route to the special islands?

I doubt there is, unfortunately, since i look like the nearest land to Yggdrasil, but as far as i can see there's no contact. Might send out a work boat just to check though.

Well, that proves it then that there's no coastal access, and you need something more advanced like caravels.
More importantly, look at the bottom left of the picture.
MANA MANA MANA MANA
(also i just realized that all 3 islands have a mana node on them, i'm thinking that it's worth it to get caravels after Sorcery to settle Ygg and Dragon Bones (since my civ is between those 2), and grab the 2 mana nodes (and the wonderful cities as well, of course).

I assume he has been 'fair' about the super 3, and placed them fairly equidistant between the various civs. Hence it may be fair to infer that each is nearish 2 civs.
Hence I would assume a civ to your NW sharing the dragon bones, 1 east and 1 NW of Ygg, and then 1 SE and 1 S of Remnants placing you on the east side of a large continent

You could settle SW of the Fish, land RoK holy city there, and reach the island after you third border pop (I think).

That... makes sense actually. How many turns will it take to pop 3 times though? (If using RoK Holy city culture only)
