Darrell, good point about wanting someone dependable to play with.

Or at least starting things off with an essay on important differences between Ancient and Multiplayer starts, between solo and team games, etc. Don't forget Sulla doesn't get paid for any of the work he puts into RBCiv. I cannot blame him if he wants to play and have fun himself instead of sitting only on the sidelines and teaching others how to play.

Well, no. That is a higher standard than I'm holding myself to, after all.
I just see the potential for trainwreck here, and that seems to be one way it might have been averted. Perhaps this is needless worry and everyone involved will enjoy themselves. Certainly that's the outcome I'd prefer.

Kuro - where are you heading?

There really aren't anything better in the south. Both Pigs and especially wheat in NW would have provided decent 2nd city spots.
Also Team 4 is in chaotic state. I hope for their sake they could find a way to manage decisions better. Dedicated lurkers are not too helful either having a very strong opposing opinions. Unless they found someone to take leadership it might be better just to let turn players to do settling desicions and only larger issues are taken under evaluation with others. The current system can't be too much fun for them.

Immediately called!

It's tough for team 4, because they don't seem to have the compatibility needed to work well together. There's no way this forum talks can compete with live chat programs and especially teamspeak (and similar programs). I don't think it'll take long for tehm to start arguing and just stop cooperating.

Ah well, that could be fun too.

Maybe one of us could step in and suggest that they have a Skype-talk or something?

From a lurker perspective, I vastly prefer team 1's single-threaded approach to the others. I don't understand why the other teams want to spread their discussion over 4-8 different threads.
If you know what I mean.

Totally.
The fact that your three civs are controlled separately is a handicap that you have to overcome by communicating. Splitting up that communication up too just seems hilariously counterproductive.

Having several threads makes it also harder for us lurkers to follow what's going on - for me at least. I vastly prefer lurking Team 1's single thread...
