North Korea Part II- The Final Naming Scheme

Currently, the plan I have is basically a smorgasbord of different economies. I'll cottage every tile I can afford to, and then run a mixture of a hammer economy(wonder fail gold+building wealth), Merchant economy(bulbing and trade missions) and maybe even a monk economy as that synergies with the spiritual trait.

As for bulbing currency, I was kinda just spit-balling, but I agree it's probably not the most effecient play, so I'll just research it.

Tech path is:

Mining->Bronze Woking->Animal Husbandy->The Wheel->Mysticism->Pottery->Writing->Polytheism->Priesthood->Code of Laws->Sailing->Masonry->Monotheism->Monarchy

This path is a little light on military, but one advantage of the vast expanses of jungle and desert on the outskirts of my territory is that I doubt I will come into early conflict.

Another turn, another million plains revealed, oh and wet corn!

What are the odds for a scout to survive on a forested hill, again?

I would put a corn city on a hill where your scout stands. Your X sign to N-NW has no means to build a monument quickly, hence border expansion there will be slow. This spot has more desert tiles (5 to 3) but also more grassland tiles (5 to 3 either), two wine tiles (and given your plan you would want Monarchy early) and oasis. Short and even medium term this spot is stronger.

Well by the time I would settle that spot, I would have caste system for faux-creative so no monument required. As for your other points, I think I will wait until I have revealed more of the tiles around the wines, to see if there are any other possible city sites. My major concern with settling beyond the desert, is that those cities would be very hard to defend at first. So the strategic location of city sites almost takes precedence over the value of said cities.

Ded-lurker sold to the first bidder!

So this is my second ded-lurking experience. It sounds like you know your stuff pretty well. It also sounds like you're willing to post quite a bit, so that's good. smile

I'll try to get caught up on your thread and then I guess I'll want to know what is your preferred way that I can help you.

I find it rather amusing, that tech wise, the discovery of Chemistry could be our downfall. smile

Alright, sounds good smile

I could just use a second opinion on my ideas/any new ideas you might have, for instance my plan for merchants to bulb MC and CS.

As for Chemistry, we should enjoy a nice period of Indiaman domination hammer

Turn rolled, our scout survived, but he took a couple more hits than I expected

Now, should we

a) Just plow through and get some more scouting info
b)Wait 8 long turns healing up, knowing that another animal could come along and eat the scout anyway

Currently I am leaning towards, A, but I'm not sure

Alright, with no comments from my dedlurker, I moved the scout for 2 turns and this is what I revealed:

Dry wheat isn't fantastic, but I'll take it, post CS it'll be pretty easy to irrigate. I have high hopes for this fertile river valley

It's been a pretty long in the game for me to still not have contact, though I have been scouting pretty close to my territory. Assuming that it is in fact the B&S map script I guess it could be possible that I am on a "small" landmass, but I have revealed an awful lot of land and not a whole lot of coast, so I doubt I'm in Australia. My best guess is that these starts have been balanced on the macro level- My land is poor quality, but I have uncontested claim to it.

Mindy, any comments?

Our brave scout was chased by a lion

He ran to the nearest hill, just barely avoiding another lion, he was given an appropriate name

Man, making these early turns interesting is a challenge lol
