Settled three more cities.
Mardoc is about to expand. His axe is on a weird position so he might go for an aggressive flatland plant next to the furs.
I settled Orpheus as a bridge city to the land grab south, but that spot won't be eligible for a city if Mardoc's expansion is too close.
100% of my focus is on improving the economy. Currency is ~20 turns away right now..

Mathematics. I actually still have a lot of forests to chop, but not much need for the hammers. I was even thinking of chopping some forests towards the Pyramids just for the fail gold, but I don't know if it's worth it.

Looks like Adrien will settle there and steal my sugar. The two spears must be there to fend off War Chariots.
The flatland plant has to be good for me in the long term. His front is already wide and open, and now it'll have a weak link in it.

We made it to Currency so we didn't manage to crash our economy. However we're falling behind due to low happy cap.

Two more cities:
Running out of city spots now. I will settle a city on the northern islands, but there is nothing there. It will be just for trade routes.
Next expansion will have to be through Adrien. He has fallen behind and only has half the cities I have. But I don't have a huge edge yet, in fact he is more ready for war than I am.
Ichabod worries me because he's Byzantium and is already ways ahead. I might want to hold off on any invasion plans until Ichabod is busy with his own war or when I can hold him off while fighting Adrien.
We just got Calendar and markets have been built in most cities. That raises the happy cap from 6 to 10.
Still debating what to get after IW. Economy techs or Construction/Engineering for cats and pikes.

What techs will you be getting pre war? Waiting for the medi era or sooner than that?

Gonna depend on what Ichabod is up to. I have experience fighting against Adrien and Mardoc. They will decline every peace offer and will fight till the end, especially since they've already fallen behind. So I have to be sure that Ichabod won't invade me with cataphracts while I'm fighting Adrien. If I deem it safe to go to war, then catapults and whatever I happen to have for post-collateral will do. If I have to wait, I might be waiting for a long time for that opportunity. I can't afford to wait all game though because what I have now won't be enough to be a win contender. My advantage was in the early game, those with late game traits and world wonders will get stronger. I can't think of any other way to actually gain an edge on other teams than by taking land from someone else by force.
