[SPOILERS] Roland and Suboptimal Team Up

I've got two tracking spreadsheets that I use. The first is used to log player scores and diplo ribbon info so I can see how things are evolving turn to turn. The second I use to track tech/civic progress, city growth/build progress & overflow, etc. That one has a number of calculators on it - expected combat damage, multi-turn expected combat damage, chop/harvest values, project GP Icon_Production costs and point yields, district construction costs, pillage values, district discounting, other such things and a city loyalty calculator. It's in LibreOffice spreadsheet format and I can export to Excel if you want a copy though my end of turn update macros don't export to Excel (IIRC).

That would be superb thanks.

Here's the updated version of the tracking spreadsheet as of my Turn 44.  Note that while the costs on the civics & techs sheets are incorrect for this game (and need to be manually entered on the first page) I'm still tracking my eurekas/inspirations here as a force of habit from prior games.  There was also an "Update Turn" button on the Game State worksheet that disappeared with the conversion.  That was programmed with a macro to update the tech & civic info on the game state sheet as well as the food and production totals of the cities on that sheet.

(Sorry, I had to. It’s a repetitive chorus. crazyeye)

The title also didn’t fit in the city name, hence the o/t. Fun fact – I got an era score for this city because I settled it within four tiles of another civ’s city. crazyeye I set the citizen to working the diamonds. I’m going with the (A) pins to start, so buy the Holy Site location, drop the district and start working on it. With Writing completing in two turns I’ve also got to get the diamonds at the other city in the fold, so I buy those as well. The diamond mine there will get me my needed amenities. I’m not sure why Diamonds has negative amenities given the fact I’ve got truffles hooked up. Hopefully that changes next turn.

Archery’s eureka is in courtesy of the suicide spearman. Warrior heads north, slinger comes south. Other warrior gets home and heal-fortifies. Al buys a galley. I can have another one in 7 turns.

Eastern galley moves east. I find an inlet, salt and the Zayande River. That name appears to not be on anyone’s list so I might be the first one here.

Nothing on settlervision. I’m going to spend a turn checking out the inlet before heading northeast.

Down south I move east and meet Hong Kong:

No envoy this time around. They want me to recruit a Great Prophet (possible but not likely). If anyone else has met them they haven’t put any envoys into them. Since I’m at the tundra I’m going around them to the north and will continue east-ish.

Woden’s got his sixth tech. Marcopolo continues to not develop.

That's an interesting tech tree. Wonder if Shipbuilding is the one that's buried behind everything else? If that's the case it makes my waiting for a Medieval Monumentality a reasonable course of action.

Shipbuilding is the one between Currency and Mathematics. That leaves Apprenticeship and Horseback Riding as the two that we're missing. I'll have the eureka for Horseback Riding in about 10 turns - Obvious Child's builder will be pasturing the horses and we'll see where that is. We should be able to plan our tech paths through the Classical once we have those.

I think as the Ancient winds down we should look at the Classical techs and see how we can maximize the eurekas. I think that will be one of the keys in tech/civic advancement going forwards. For example, I can easily get the boost for Celestial Navigation (could actually do it at OC once the builder is out), so I should be the one to complete that tech first. That gives you the boost which you're not in a position to get otherwise. Same with Shipbuilding since I've already got that one. Some of them (Construction, Currency) we'll both be getting the boosts for naturally so the order isn't important (I'll be putting a water mill at Al and we're both setting up trade routes at some point).
