Okay draft to exploit - any comments? Especially the ending I couldn't figure out how best to end it
Quote:Hi Exploit,
Thank you for your email. While we are very interested in negotiating the city site location, this proposal has many items relating to long term game strategy that will require more negotiation to complete the exact terms.
So while in general, we agree with what you are saying (i.e. we have no plans to attack you, and we've already made some comments in our thread about possible unit or tech deals that we might be able to make with you), we feel that it is best to continue those discussions as a separate thread.
We can agree to points 1 and 2. For point 6, it is our understanding of how trade routes work, if we both settle our cities (us on the stone, you 3NW of the stone) that we should have trade routes, even without Sailing, since the river connecting our cities will be fully within both of our borders.
As for point 5, we can agree to not chop the forests, but would be willing to allow you to chop them. As we've stated before, we have no desire to culturally control those tiles - we just need to settle on the stone for our dotmap and to have enough food in the city.
Thank you for your time on this matter and PARTY ON!

Quick email to ruff
Quote:Rome's warrior is at 5W1N, though he's going to get blocked by our borders soon.
And Hot Dog the quechua is no longer visible to us, so we can only assuem it went E, NE or SE
He had asked us to keep him apprised of those issues

Draft to Inca
Quote:That was weird - we got your edit first, then the original message (twice) a few hours later. But that's fine - we seem to have gotten it all worked out now!!!
Hopefully your quechua Hot Dog is not too inebriated from the massive party we had to celebrate his arrival. We know how to party over here!!!
We have met a few folks over here. In addition to yourselves, Aztecs and Rome, we have met Egypt, HRE, Sumeria and Portugal and just spied an ottoman chariot this turn as well.
So speaking of interesting times, you guys sure seem to be whipping a lot. I think that we are glad that we are all the way across the map from you!!!
Have you guys met anyone else? We'd be especially interested in finding folks that live on the other side of the Great Desert divide (if your quechua makes it! I hear there are barb warriors afoot now...)
Hope to hear from you soon and PARTY ON!

Draft to the Ottomans
Quote:Well met Ottomans! We have waylaid your chariot Valeria near Egyptian lands. Hopefully he won't have to sleep it off too many turns - we are known as a civ that knows how to PAR-TAY! You can see the 0.6/2 "hangover" our warrior Guinness has - someone must have spiked the lion stew we had!
So.... apparently we are already allies, though we have just now officially met in-game, right? :-)
It's my understanding that you guys are working on Pottery and planning on trading that around on the "Big Tech Trading Day" , is that right? And ruff has talked to you about working together a little closer within the larger tech group, right?
We hope to hear from you soon and PARTY ON!!!

Uh...see my post in the technical forum. Not sure what happened, but I misclicked two Warrior moves on the way . As long as Rome doesn't get mean we should be okay.
rego, you want to chat Rome up and let them fake war pass through our lands? Maybe take a 20 turn NAP as a result?

Chat with portugal
Quote: Willem: hey, just a quick chat while this seminar is on going, but the things Krill was saying about exploit and rome I completely agree with
me: me too
Willem: we are trying to lean on rome and I think we are getting closer but maybe if we coordinate our negotiations we would have more success?
I would like to inform you that I have been in touch with DJ, which helped us understand the role that the alliance intends for SsS, as have your response. We are especially excitet about the prospect of SsS being able to run an offensive sort of "diplomacy" under the support of the alliance, though we still need to discuss things thoroughly within SsS before we commit to anything, as I'm sure you understand.
from rome's last message to us
me: ok
i had a good chat with them this morning
how's your economy with your 4th city?
Willem: not great, but not that bad
we are setting ourselves up for mass cottaging on pottery day
me: yeah
Willem: we have a fur camped to support us in mean time
me: ah nice
Willem: so as long as people trade us pottery and hopefully IW we should be able to pay everyone back and more by pottery
me: must be nice to be financial
Willem: we only had the one tech available to tech so there weren't many other options
heh, fin is ok, portugal isn't
me: yeah you and carthage got kinda screwed by this map
and to an extent anyone that sarted with fishign
Willem: yeah
I also actually just find maps with navies more fun to play
me: true
Willem: what has rome said to you?
also what can we do about exploit?
me: well i was trying to explain to them the possibilities of being the "military" power
Willem: do you have copper/horses connected?
me: we don't have the whele
i'd say can ou aim to have 2 chariots by eot65?
Willem: ahh, neither do we but all our cities are on rivers
me: so are ours
Willem: we can't see horses
me: but the chopper and horses arent'
Willem: so we get copper connected hmm let me see
t64, which is really slow, but if you had plans to war a bit earlier we can move it forward
but I guess you won't be able to build anything decent till after t63
me: we won't be able to hook up horses before t63 (tech trading day)
Willem: and wheel
me: right
i'd say we could slave 2 chariots t63 and t64
Willem: ok, we could slave 2 axes/spears to complete t65
problem is we don't want to slave our cottage silver cities
me: sure
Willem: we can see exploits horses
they aren't connected
do you know if his second city grabbed copper?
me: we can't see it
Willem: hmm, well our armies won't arrive till after he researches alphabet
Sent at 6:05 PM on Sunday
me: well we could get a few chariots out there to try and choke
depending on wht he's got
he oesn't have hunting yet
Willem: if rome signs up we can see what they can contribute
that could be worth it
ahh yes good point
i'll see if we can't get an axe there earlier
also what can you tell me about these possible counter alliances?
me: the only thing i know is that hre told me that england told them that there is a mali / byz / babs / france tech group
Willem: right heh wheels within wheels
i think krill has designs on french territory
although he hasn't said so to us explicitly
me: probably
Willem: well anyway, i'll discuss this with dantski see if we can contribute something to anti-exploit adventure a bit earlier
me: ok
Willem: ok bye

Sent this to Rome. If it doesn't work - blame darrell (for the misclick )
Quote:Hi guys,
You may have seen darrell's post in the email / tehnical thread - but he managed to misclick some warriors due to lag and the net is that our warrior that was supposed to be "partying with" our worker near our latest city has decided to seek out booze in another location.
So, while I doubt that you would try to snipe it so far from home, we'd offer a short term 10 NAP. We'd also be willing to allow you a declration of war if you want to use that to pass through our lands (rather than taking the long way home), if you agree to the NAP
I get the feeling that you are kind of on the fence with this whole thing, but it's hard to tell if that's just natural reluctance or just the slowness of trying to coordinate with multiple teams and multiple members in a team.
I thought we had a pretty good chat ths morning but if there's anything else that you'd like to talk about, let us konw. As you probably saw, Exploit will be teching Alphabet T72, so it would be ideal if we could kill /c ripple him before then. With you, us and Portugal triple teaming him, we should be able to take him out quickly with a few chariots each. That will leave your Praets free to work elsewhere.
Anyway that's my thoughts - let us know and PARTY ON
