That one falls in with floating camera tricks among arguably illegitimate skullduggery. (Obviously not banned and no shade, but it doesn't *feel* right to me.)

That means Mjmd is in the west and can safely expand into what would've been Superdeath's lands, and TBS and I can only reach him by a one-tile isthmus. That's freaking terrible. I played a game like this before (PB45), in which one player killed another early and was otherwise isolated from everyone else, so they could grow at their leisure and none of the other players could even contest them. It felt terrible because everyone else plays, essentially, a meaningless game while waiting for that isolated player to advance to whatever advantage they feel will seal the game for themselves. alright Oh well.

pirate Isn’t there a whole New World with greener grass? pirate and didn’t you pick Portugal for a reason? pirate lurkers demand that you deliver on the promise of blood!

100% agreed. The black part of the map is supposed to be unknown. I'm ok with tile bleed, but the people who sketch in shorelines and islands with flying camera are exploiting a bug in the game.

My opinion of the world-dimension scouting and the flying camera is that they're available equally to everyone, and the flying camera requires skill to use (and consequently has plenty of room for error), so I consider them mechanics at this point. I admit that I don't apply this reasoning to whatever that trick is where you use fortify commands to find cities in the fog. That one does feel like too much.

We met the bloodthirsty Mjmd! I'm not sure where, and he played a double turn, so I PM'ed him to ask if I would've seen his unit if we had kept a turn sequence. Very scary to be on the coast and be known but not knowing.

Otherwise, nothing interesting to show. I guess we can look at the Crop Yield.

On Cornflakes' encouragement, I'm reminded that none of these graphs mean anything and I'm just here to pillage. pirate

As expected, Mjmd is to our West and can lock down that bridge, so he gets a half of a continent while TBS and I settle for a quarter.

On the other hand, the distances are much shorter, so stuff can still happen.

You might have a northern bridge (or even bigger connexions) considering your last picture wink

Well, it took me a week to check:

No land bridge, but an additional fish resource and marble!

This is a terrible screenshot but it's the best I've got. I was traveling for Thanksgiving, so I'm finally able to report again.

We landed the Great Lighthouse. The cost to our development was considerable. I'm only at 4 cities to my continent-mates' 6 cities. This is very bad, but hopefully the commerce will help us catch up. The Lighthouse gets us started on our Great Merchant, which we need for a Civil Service bulb.

In the wider world, TBS just got Metal Casting, so expect the Pyramids from him soon. Giraflorens grabbed Oracle, I think. So that gives him both Great Prophet wonders, since he got Stonehenge earlier. Mjmd is still expanding at a lightning pace.

Our continent is very interesting. I suspect it will be difficult for any of us three to make a profitable move against another, so we're just going to develop, trusting in our innate advantages. Mjmd has a huge amount of land. TBS has the American unique Library. I have my rugged good looks.

For the record, my axe builds are not meant offensively. They're investments in taking that barb city to the Northeast. innocent

Grats on landing TGLH!
"Superdeath seems to have acquired a rep for aggression somehow. [Image: noidea.gif] In this game that's going to help us because he's going to go to the negotiating table with twitchy eyes and slightly too wide a grin and terrify the neighbors into favorable border agreements, one-sided tech deals and staggered NAPs."

Thanks! The jury is still out on whether it was worth it. I’ll post a demo screen when I’m back from work. I’m last in Mfg and crop, and my neighbors are scary.

If they keep open borders with me, I’ll be happy. Interesting note: TBS and Mjmd do not have open borders.

Took a while.

Why was I put on the vet continent?  cry

I continue to scout Mjmd's land.

It's a toss up between who will win the continent. Mjmd with his soon-to-be-massive empire or TBS with his Great People and wonders. (He just got the Pyramids.) Either way, my odds aren't looking so hot.
