Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

RB Pitboss #2 [SPOILERS] - Pacal II of Greece! (Jowy & Yazilliclick)

Mortius just got eliminated from the game. And we went for a workboat first lol

Found purple borders southwest. I thought Sulla's capital would be right here, but the border looks more like LiPing's. We'll find out next turn.

Well that was fast lol. Yup will certainly feel more comfortable when we have some defence now

Well I guess now if that turns out to be LiPing then we'll know that Iamjohn's team is somewhere around there as well and that both of them have a vacant area not to expand into presumably

from Sulla/Speaker Wrote:Greetings once more, Greek neighbors!

In light of the recent Pitboss news, this world seems like an especially scary and dangerous place. We think it would favor both of our teams to sign an agreement making sure that we can both avoid Mortius' hasty exit. What would you say to signing a firm Non-Aggression Pact (NAP) to last until Turn 75, 1000BC? That's not so long as to tie either of our hands permanently, yet it is long enough to get us both out of the early Ancient Age rush period. This way, both of our teams could concentrate on settling and growing peacefully, and avoid a destructive military buildup.

We're more than willing to discuss the issue with your team if you feel the terms are not satisfactory. Speaker and I hope that you will find our offer pleasing. Until we next speak,

Sullla
The Killer Angels

Sent them a message that this is received and being discussed.

I think this would be a good idea provided we can agree to settling boundaries. Last thing we want is to be stuck in a NAP while having them settle near us. Perhaps though we can agree to a shorter term NAP with an extension when a settling arrangement is agreed upon?

What are you thinking about the lay of the land these days? I'm thinking it's possible we're all on continents or there's a hub in the middle. Either way we probably have at least one other civ nearby based on the latest events.

As far as settling I'd say we'd want that nice city spot by the stone and the silk by the coast. Not sure what their resources look like because from what we see right now those places look pretty rich compared to the other land between us (I'm going to assume that's actually Sulla and not LiPing based on the distance). we do need at least those two spots for some buffer though between our capital and them.

T100 is way too long, I don't like it. The game will change so much in that time. Personally I would like to wait a couple of turns to see where we have copper. Their score finally raised this turn. We have no c&d in-depth, but I could bet my balls they got bronze working. And found no copper. The timing is too perfect.

I agree with you about shorter NAP, and then possibly extension if everything's cool when that ends. First NAP to turn 40 or so?

We aren't alone on these lands with Killer Angels. The map is normal size, I doubt that all this land could be for us. Maybe two continents of 4-5 players, divided by sea? Or three continents with 3 players (would be more balanced).

To-do:
- Discuss the NAP
- (locate copper)
- Dot map for city locations
- Send back a diplomacy e-mail about NAP

Hmm where's T100 from? They're proposing T75 and I don't think we should agree to anything beyond that like you say as it would be too long. Maybe T75 is too long? T40 would work with perhaps an automatic 10 turn renewal unless notice is given?

You make a good point about copper though, we should definitely wait to see where it is before committing to settling and plan out our towns first.

I blame that on being sick smoke Perhaps I took the T100 from 1000BC lol Anyway the point still stands, even 75 is quite long. Maybe to T40 at first, then we settle on the borders and if everyting works out, it renews to T75?

I'll accept your excuse, this time wink lol

Yeah I'd be fine with T40 but we should make the renewal an automatic thing that requires several turns notice if one party is not going to want to renew it. Gives us a bit more advance notice of their intentions.

It's hard to read their team and see their intentions. I doubt that Sullla would ever blindside us and launch a surprise attack if we don't first provoke him to do it. But on the other hand Speaker is an ADMIN of the civ4 multiplayer ladder.. and multiplayer's are the masters of blindsiding. Not to mention both of them were in civ4 quality assurance, testing the game mechanics in-depth over and over again.. bang Sounds like a good team to have just next door? lol Our advantage? We know them, they don't know us.

I agree on the renew mechanics.
