Correct.

EDIT: Well it depends. A Lizardman is certainly a barb unit, not an animal, so it is allowed to enter your borders. Now it might not for other reasons (randomly decides to move elsewhere, guarding something, barbs sometimes don't enter borders at all until certain conditions are bet in BtS and that may carry over to FFH...) but your worker is at least at some theoretical risk, as opposed to like a Lion where the worker would be completely safe.

Thanks Sunrise, I figured as much. It's not a risk worth taking, especially as this isn't really my game.

T33 played. Moved the scouting warrior 2xNW (first was onto a hill) nothing of major interest revealed. Promoted him to Shock as well.

The worker has to be held back a turn from farming the rice because of this Lizardman that has appeared. The barb is 3S of the capital and my worker and now CIII Warrior are both 1S. The rice is 1S, 1SE. If I had moved the CIII warrior with the worker last turn I could have started farming this turn but I never considered needing to cover the worker within my own territory. Chalk that up to mistake #1 for me smile.

Bah, the thing was the lizard man was fine. I would have probably done something way worse, deserving a smoke. Although, maybe promoting the warrior to Woody 1 would have been better.

AFAIK you need a certain religion (FoL?), a tech (Hidden Path or so) and can only give it to recon units

While Woody 2 can not be gained, Woody 1 by itself on a unti that already basically has Guirella 1, makes a C1, Woody 1, Guierlla 1 scouting unit that has double moves on hills. Compared to Shock, which only helps against certain barbs, instead of the more flexiable forest defense.

Yeah but barbs in recent patches don't suicide against units. They walk right by, so you need a more active defense. I guess YMMV, but that's my experience.
