Yes, it's 3 space apart each cove, and they can only be built on coasts. So optimally you need a lake for the 4 Cove city, but i've seen (once in a blue moon) a funny land which led to me being able to 4-cove all non-lake water tiles.

I remember having a 'pirate cove' event while playing another civ, so others must be able to use them (they probably can even try to have a culture battle to gain some on your border...)

Well, there is clearly space for 2 cities here, each getting 2 coves. 1 will get Clams/Wines, the other will get Pigs/Incense.

Unfortunately there is a Horde of Goblins there (7 Archers), but since the only entry way is through the graveyard it is quite safe.

I'll think about a city in the middle later, but i doubt i will settle it. Rushing out here to get these cove locations seem to be a better play.

In other news, a new Warrior has taken over guard duty on the dungeon, and the scout is heading N to scout. Another Warrior will complete when the city grows.

Are you going to explore the grave now? I would, at worst you'll just get a couple skeletons or a spectre (they don't even have many tiles to spawn on), and if you delay the first goblin to spawn from the fort will likely pop the grave for himself.

Neutrals don't pop graves right? Either way, i can't. A single Spectre will lead to killing my Warrior on the other Barrow, which would lead to Skeles spawning two tiles away from my City. As much as i love popping Lairs in SP, i don't want to be the person who loses first in FFH PBEMS =P

Barbs can open graves, and only graves. I'm not sure if they actually get anything from them though, or if they just destroy them.


You'd actually have better than even odds to kill a spectre, cause' you get a first strike chance with raiders and spectres are really weak, although I understand your hesitation. I personally think that the high chance of a free tech makes it worth it, but do what you think is best.

Firstly, my scout popped a hut.

Now, i'm trying to remember. Do Dungeons or Barrows spawn Skeletons? Because what my Warrior is standing on is a Barrow...

With that said... i should trust my instincts a bit more.

My Warrior ran to the SW Hill, and found another Barrow. Great. I hope i'm correct and they're not the skeleton producers, but i doubt it.

Oh, and there's a Spectre. Yeah.

Eh, I wouldn't worry too much about the specter. Your warrior has good odds to win if it attacks you on the hill, in which case it's just free exp.


Barrows spawn skeletons. Dungeons don't spawn anything. Ruins spawn Lizardmen, and Goblin forts spawn +1 strength goblins of gradually increasing levels of danger.
