As an aside, since Civstats does not seem to let us know who is up... Is there any interest in creating a tracker of sorts? I could do a couple things.
1. As long as we can get someone to host the php file, we could create a tracker page like many PBEM's use. For example: http://mistbinder.org/RBPBEM14tracker.php. The only difference will be you aren't attaching PBEM saves to the email. 2. I could also create a variation where when each team is complete, every player on the next team gets an email to let them know that it's their turn. So the process would be, team X finishes their turn and sends a "we're done" email to the tracker, which forwards that on to every player on team Y, letting them know it's their turn. 3. Ok, I have created an email account to use as a "tracker" for this. The trick is to set up forwarding rules within Gmail. If you would like email notifications for your turn, I will need your email address. These are the teams that I believe I have. I'll only send notifications to ded-lurkers if they specifically request it, otherwise I'm looking for all email addresses for turn players.
I have the email addresses for many of you, but some I do not... So if I have you marked as "need email" and you are a turn player and would like email notifications when it's your turn, please send me a PM with your email address or post it here. Once the email is working you'll know when it's your turn, when the hosted php is running you'll know exactly whose turn it is. You will each get an email asking if you'd like to confirm forwarding, which will give the tracker permission to forward to you... So confirm that once you get the email. |
