Heads up!
I detailed my strategy in my thread, but I figured for coordination purposes I'd xpost the situation in the decision thread too. For the moment I'd like to deny them scouting us, but if he pulls back I could cheat up a little and then pull back if he tries a runby...giving slightly extra scouting.
Jkaen you and I need to secure that choke area IMO. It will get annoying for them to dislodge us if we get there first...

Does us having contact mean we can see what tech they have on us now?

My bad, neglected to mention.
They used an artist to bulb music, getting another artist. This allows build culture + another great person for who knows what, maybe golden age? 2nd bulb?

That's gonna be hell for me. I'm not in the mood to die to 5 xp crossbow/longbow choke, I'll be on my toes.
How dangerous is that? Very. guerrilla II units get 2move on hills and can fork cities. Keep this in mind when placing them. We have chokes so econ can possibly compete with aggressive play.

The thing is I dont see a heavy choke coming to us especially since most teams even with you coming on board will write us off as the 4th placers. I dont think they would divert that level of resources at us

I am thinking that way also, lots of big names in this game. However, we can't think that way, we have to keep our eyes open for both threats and for opportunities to nail someone. For the time being our eyes on the power graph will suffice; the biggest thing is to avoid letting another team deal us a major setback for a low cost. A pair of guerrilla II longbows between our cities for example, could cut worker turns (going around and/or waiting until 2-3 defenders just to protect while improving etc) and force us to expend ridiculous amounts of resources to dislodge; better to avoid that kind of nonsense.

I know in PBEM4 it took Krill a VERY long time to dislodge what had first been some GII LB, and later GII Muskets and Rifles, on some key front hills of his, that let me spy on his front city (a sentry WC and later a Knight after I stabbed some workers helped with visibility there, which with Theo, Vassalage, or Stables could come into play reasonably soon as well). And that was a small stack.

Yeah. I've had problems (and given others major problems) with things like this on a quick timer on gamespy. I'd be surprised if they sent NOTHING at us for harassment, but making it too costly for them would be a big plus.
At least with spiritual I can sac bur for 5 turns and with some production micro out some longbows or something similar from that before switching back.
