Mist Wrote:Vamps start with Exploration. It's so obvious I have no idea how could you ever think otherwise Thanks for the more correct info. The sad thing is I even did some research, at first I thought it was Agriculture they started with
Well, Exploration is of course the tech we have the least desire for early. I think the likely path is either Agri -> Calendar or Crafting -> Mining, for whatever commerce we have, followed by either the other or AC -> Edu -> CoL

Yay!
That map thread title didn't exactly fill me with confidence .
Maybe there'll even be a starting screenshot posted so we can discuss T0 plans with more info

RoB on t0 depends on the starting terrain.
With an XI start it's good. With a VI/XV start....why bother?

River of Blood: Are you convinced that T0 is appropriate? If not, let's discuss. I've been known to be wrong about some things occasionally .
As Thoth said, I think this really depends on the start. There's real value in waiting to make sure we get pop off the opponents too. But it depends on the tiles to work. Some healthy C&D will be quite valuable, so hopefully MBTM will be able to rejoin us by the time its necessary.
Mardoc Wrote:Starting Tech: (I'm pretty sure we start with Ancient Chants). I think the first tech to research depends on the starting location, and should be whatever it takes to hook up our resources. Assuming Mist gave us some. Code of Laws needs to be an early priority, but not first.
Totally depends on the start. Generally best idea is to go for whatever you have at the capital, especially as we start without a worker tech. My instinct for this game is just to push the economy hard as we possibly can and then push for vamps. Generally we can reach our broken toy before the others can reach theirs.
Mardoc Wrote:Starting Build: Worker. It seems to be generally the best move, we're on a no-early-conflict map to boot, and should start at pop 3 , which makes it easier to build an emergency warrior if need be. Also makes having improved tiles more urgent.
Again, depends on the resources. But worker first is usually the right choice, even in FFH.

Also we really haven't spammed this up enough today.
This song isn't from the theme, but I bet it gets stuck in your head:

Also... I was thinking about our respective themes and RP. I rather enjoyed the RP back and forth with Rawkking when we first met in FFH7 - its one thing to roleplay stoned, wrestling loving elves. Roleplaying Fad-loving, 90s Hit Listening Vampires... that might be beyond my abilities.
Perhaps we need a rethink. Any suggestions?

I figure we need something mostly harmless as our public face. Yet not annoying. And straightforward to play.
Um...maybe jolly chef/baker/gourmands? Always in the kitchen, always with a cookie or plate of spaghetti or something to share with visitors?
Or could go for the opposite, the fad dieter. "Oh, I stopped that one, it just didn't seem to be working. I know I've got a good diet this time - I'm allowed to eat anything that's red. So that's apples, and cranberries, and rare steaks, and..."
Or we could be LARPers . "A beanbag hits you in the chest, while a voice cries 'magic missile'..." Dunno if that one would really keep the aggression away, though.
Or Otto Chriek?
Or more generally, artists/photographers/sculptors?
I dunno, none of these seem that great. Maybe I'll have a better idea after sleeping on it.

"Wherest thou Chainmail, Ravus Sol?"

Now this could be something. I could be Insanity Wolf, you could be Philosoraptor, MBTM could be Joseph Ducreaux?
Make good city names as well.

What's the goal, 100 posts before the first save? I bet if we start a Bella vs. Sookie debate we could get there in less than 24 hours ![[Image: mischief.gif]](http://www.garath.net/Sullla/Smilies/mischief.gif) .

Nah, just to have fun while we wait. Can't even scold you for not helping , as I see you're responsible for 25% of the map thread.
...I think I'm going to regret asking - but what's a Sookie?
