Gavagai took 2 cities from HAK. Still nothing happening on our side. Do you have any thoughts on the GS next turn ?

Hmm a lot going on here, -and sorry I have had so little time to post - I haven't even been able to get any turns played at all!

The scientist I think we should use to GA... We are pretty much at the mercy of a GJ attack don't forget. If we go for a academy it won't give us a huge amount and will just gift it to GJ. A bulb will not be that useful but we have pretty much grown to the happy cap and a GA will give a nice prod boost for more def.

As for next tech path... I'm torn too. I don't feel we need maces but Knights might be nice. CS would be nice although I think we should stay in vassalage as we do get the army discount and the promos are nice as I feel we will be attacked soon.

What's the GJ v Gavagi power? That's the other possibility. Seeing that war he might have diverted North rapidly whilst the gavagi army is away knowing that we don't pose a huge threat currently. Sounds like there is a lot of war going on up there! Maybe we should try again if GJ declares on gavagi? Go down swinging?

I just fired a GA and revolted to OR. I put research on the min level to be able to 1 turn engineering, so we can upgrade some spearmen into pikes. For now I've been putting the tech path on meditation/priesthood/COL/CS but I don't mind changing it to Guilds. I wanted presthood to get a GP for the shrine, but it can wait I guess (makes us an even better looking target, especially with the holy city at the border).

Gavagai just went over GJ in power but they're mostly equal. GJ's going after paper right now. I really doubt that GJ would leave our border empty, we've been at war several times now so he knows we'll be going after him.

2 more next turn ? Or saving gold for 100% research on priesthood and accumulating research ? I feel that upgrading spears to pikes is too expensive to make it worthwhile.

Even after a few minutes of intense thinking I have no idea what this is about. We have both iron and dyes.




The changelog is fun, HAK made peace with Gavagai and mackoti, Gawdzak got liberalism, then Gavagai declared on mackoti which led mackoti, in a golden age, to change his civics to Police state Vassalage Slavery and Free Market. For our own strategy I decided to go 100% on priesthood for the double prereq bonus, overflowing into alphabet (I want spies to know what's coming) then it's on to guilds.

That's rather interesting, wish I could have seen that. If they both made peace the same turn perhaps the stacks got teleported next to each other and gavagi oppertunitistically hit makoti? With all that going on North GJ may be tempted to dogpile onto Gavagi... If he does I think we should try again! Spies would be a great idea to see what is going on re defence wise.

Pikes are nice, I don't think he will bother hitting us now before currs at least. A guilds window has passed for an easy overrun. I agree to not upgrade anymore currently. but perhaps keep a little gold in reserve just in case for the time being?

It looks like Gawdezk is leaving everyone behind, unless someone else can get a lot of land quickly...

The iron should be visible to them on the trade screen. I really think there's a meaning to the proposal, I just don't know what it is. We'll know if there's been fighting this turn between mackoti and Gavagai soon enough. Strangely GJ is not going towards cuirs or rifles, but towards education. Of course economically it's not a bad choice (although the commerce from PP and hammers from RP are huge) but somehow he's not planning an attack ?

We met Plako ! No idea where we met him, but he greeted us with offers I couldn't refuse.







He happens to be north of Commodore. We're getting lots of TRs with him, some of them 5c.

Dreylin is showing off, I'm really not sure what to make of them. I hope it's just a message to stay away from the islands.




Ahhh, it feels good to be in a golden age teching with big known tech bonuses.




mackoti lost two cities to Gavagai, one of them really close to his cap with only his double gold city in between.

What would you think of turning the espionnage slider on after we get the next gen of techs (up to CS, maybe paper) ? We'd put it all on GJ and we'd see what he's up to at all times.

Did I mention I was preparing an attack on the barb city in the north ? The hwacha will serve as a scout to know what's in there, the swordsman could be enough.
