New EitB PBEM?

All enabled. ToM can be stopped and if it can't than your opponent probably is far enough ahead that he would win in another way as well. The only reason I won in FFH12 via ToM on T142 was that I had NAPs till T150 and knew that neither party would break them. So I could completely ignore that my military would not withstand 20 HAs. That won't be the same in an AI-diplo game without NAPs.

Quote:3. Map. Mardoc made a very good post about the map above and I think everyone is ok with his choices. He asked us to decide on these two issues, though:

a) See starts before picking?

b) Quick start bonus or not, and what type if any?

A. No

B. Nothing big. I don't like the idea of a super lush capital

Should I make a four-player map, instead, or do you want to wait for a fifth signup?

Looks like not seeing starts before picking wins, regardless. Serdoa, I'll post starting screenies in your threads once I have them (and you've got those created and civs picked), even if I don't have the rest of the map done. That ought to help you get your sandbox off to a quick start.

And it sounds like the consensus is becoming no particular fast-start bonus, just a lush map should be sufficient.

I suppose you can feel free to send in picks whenever you're ready on all the rest of the settings. I'm confident I can ignore them when it comes to mapmaking - I've been coming up with ideas already.

Yeah, I guess we have everything set up, we are only lacking a player. frown I'd really prefer playing a 5 player game, so I think we should wait a bit. Hopefully we can find someone interested in a game (maybe one of you knows someone who can be invited?).

If we can't find anyone, I guess we go with 4 players only.

I'll be your fifth. smile

Can't say as I like all the settings, but I don't dislike any of them enough to make a stink. smile

The only issue I see is the need for a dual install of EitB while the PB is still going on. In theory, it isn't a problem. In practice, I'll forget to swap before logging into the PB and crash the game again. Turn pace is slow enough there already without me crashing the game once or twice a week. wink

I emailed Ichabod because I couldn't get my old account to work. Unsure why. Either way, I'd like to play if you have a spot for me.

Well, we didn't have a fifth yesterday, now we have two players interested. I'd be very happy to play with any of you, but it seems we were looking for a 5 player game, so we have a problem. I'm not sure exactly how to proceed here - Thoth posted first in the thread, but I think Kyan's email to me might have been earlier. What a confusion! lol

My first decision would be to give the spot to Thoth, since he posted here first. It's a hard one to make, because I'd like to play with both Thoth and Kyan. But, well, there'll be other games.

So, the roster is:

Ichabod
Serdoa
DaveV
gtAngel
Thoth

Guess we can send our picks to Mardoc. That is, if we are going for that pick system.

By the way, Kyan, you are very welcome to ded-lurk me.
