Chumchu's capital's border popped, it's sealed off.
As a sign of the glory of this People's Republic, our first granary! No one else has one.
Elkad's borders popped, teleporting my warrior out of his territory. Excellent!
Also, note that Elkad seems to be working a river grass tile, instead of his recently improved pigs. A misclick?

See that riverside grass that I'm working? I call it the shame house. Because of my micro screwup, I have no improved tiles around my capital. And not for another 2 turns. But at the same time, there is nothing else to work, so may as well go max food. Food is doubly valuable because I have an early granary, while an axe does nothing for me.
Two pieces of news. Elkad landed Hinduism: right in DTG's face. Good, I have a pick of either religion should they spread to me. It also chokes off resources from DTG, thanks for crippling that city for me! It does mean I'll need to scramble and make a play for that Moai city before it chokes off my deer, I'll need some way of quickly popping to level 3 borders.
Also, Elkad's thankfully stopped working the river grass over his improved resources.

You could also have worked the lake for extra commerce assuming fishing

Currently the policy is that any unsanctioned attempts by citizens of the Democratic Republic to enter the waters so that they may leave the embrace of the Great Leader will result in instant execution by firing squad. They do not yet know how to fish.

An update. A settler is planned to be whipped out on T58 (a tad late, but the wise leader has been focused on getting granaries everywhere).
Just 2-pop whipped a worker, designed to overflow into a workboat. I could have whipped last turn, but that would have resulted in insufficient overflow. This city will go into pure growth mode after this.
A screen of the land of the foul capitalists. Elkad has 3-pop whipped another settler, most likely headed south. I hope he isn't foolish enough to settle my moai site, considering that he is hemmed in on both sides by enemies, that would be exceedingly foolish.
The arrogant DTG have beaten us to a 4th city! Though I can't help but wonder about the state of their infrastructure: in the previous screenshot, their deer, copper, and cows are still unimproved!
Information gleaned about the backfill lands to the west. Now would be a good time to plan out more comprehensive dotmaps.

City settled next turn. Axeman will be arriving 2 turns behind schedule, but if worse comes to worse, I can stuff a pair of warriors inside the new city. Besides, Elkad and DTG relations are probably worse, that warrior is at most probing.
A shot of my opponents.
And a shot of the far reaches. Some weird shit over there, a plains hill wheat.

A glorious new city to honor my name!
Smoothly organized labor organisations sing praises as they work for the good of the state. New city already has a food tile improved, and more soldiers to defend the front against the vile capitalist pigdogs are being sent forward. One worker in the south, on the other hand, has been behaving indecisively, he has been disciplined and sent back to his home.
Foolishly, the capitalists neglect the welfare of their peoples. Bark soup is delicious when flavored with the finest swiss cheese, I see no complaints from the citizens.
There is danger. Our power level has not been growing, soldiers have been prioritised on all fronts. Fortunately, I do not expect war to come any time soon: Elkad and DTG are tracking with one another, and Elkad has been playing 7 minute turns.
Unlike DTG, I have been prioritising food and commerce over hammers, for the future glory of the state!
Our statistics bode well in comparison to our neighbors, but not well in comparison to the entire planet.

I have only just realised that Elkad, in his utter foolishness, had built a barracks in Eridu. Not a worker, not a granary, but a freaking barracks. I mean, sure, he built it on the turn he popped Hinduism in the city. But still, that's irritating, it means he pops his border ahead of schedule. In any case, the plan is: complete the camp next turn, which will speed growth to size 2 and working deer/cows. Afterwards, road the hill 9 of City of Kim Jong Un, and subsequently minechop the hill.
A microplan is needed! Many many cottages require laying down.
T62: 1 more worker turn into cottaging that tile, move 2 workers 4 and cottage that one.
T63: Previous worker moves 4 and puts a turn into cottaging, one of the previous 2 workers splits off and heads south to cottage, and the other worker completes the cottage.
T64-5, 2 workers moves 97 to cottage.
City of Kim Jong Il will will focus on maximum food in order to grow onto all the bonus tiles asap.
City of Kim Il Sung will also focus on max food, in order to do a settler whip. It generates 17 foodhammer surplus (cottages are neutral). Therefore, the best option is to stagnate on a settler for 3 turns, then perform a 2-pop whip. This is probably the most efficient method.
