[SPOILERS] Fire and Blood: Nyles Standish and Zalson watch the world burn

T15:

I moved our worker North and met TBS's scout. Hey buddy!

Our worker -- we really need a name for the worker and the scout -- completes the pasture on the sheep.

This new crop yield ROCKETS us into the demographics lead!

Penis Landmass remains sadly unconfirmed.

Pindicator and company learned another tech. They probably went agriculture/hunting -- or something else that can be completed in T16. That or they founded on a 3 food tile and grew to Size 2? Not sure without any Demos.

EDIT: No they just grew to Size 2, I'm almost positive. They were able to start growing 2 turns earlier than we were with the expansive bonus. Wish I'd been able to confirm... I'll try to get that data tonight.

It was kind of a dick move, especially considering the hard effort that Nyles put into erecting his argument that we both hope is laden with phallusies. Thank you. I'll see myself out.

lol It's fine; the only 'dick move' was me abandoning my thread without warning for 3 days before popping in. coffeecup

Yeah, they grew to size 2 faster than we could because of the expansive bonus. All of the other civs with 2 point score increases this turn have expansive leaders (Shaka, Mao, Bismarck). Interestingly, TBS/dcodea hasn't grown yet despite being expansive/imperialistic.

Moved scout. Logical next sequence is to go in the general direction of the flags and check out the penisinsula to the north.

Moved worker to the plains cow.

We're pretty much set in terms of planning for the next few turns. I think the most important thing is figuring out what our neighbors are up to. We'll get graphs on pindicator in a few turns (we'd already have them if I had remembered to adjust the weighting on espionage points to put 4/turn on them). The power graph will allow us to better narrow down which techs they could have; right now the only thing we have to go on is the number of turns it took for their score to increase.

I was online, so I went ahead and played the turn. Or tried to. 3rd time was the charm.

I think we want to get graphs on both of them ASAP, since we're likely to need to expand through one of them. Pindicator is a bigger threat to our dream location; I don't think we need to settle as aggressively toward TBS. The land in between us isn't quite as packed with resources. Although -- more whales and more fish? I can't imagine he'll take kindly to us grabbing that spot. Tentative dotmap in signs.

That said, our third city needs to establish a border with TBS. There are so many rich spots that it's difficult to decide where to found first. Do we go for more cities, taking advantage of the high yields? Or do we found fewer super-cities?

I think it's probably better to have more cities.

We should get demographics next turn. TBS is pouring his Espionage into us (40/12) ... and so is pindicator (56/44). Le sigh.

I think the combination of food and lack of happiness resources means we need to go for Monarchy sooner rather than later. Unless we suddenly stumble on gems or something somewhere.

Started the worker on the cow.

Any lurkers want to suggest Targaryen worker names?

Went ahead and played the turns. We finally got demographics on pindicator. I'll post the power graph, the GNP graph, the MFG graph and the crop yield graph. Everything else we already knew.

A lion shows up.

I mircoed Valyria to get 4 hammers overflow into the settler next turn. BW in 4.

T20:

Move the scout further north.

We haven't discussed what to do with our warrior, but I move him 1 SW to hit the forested hill. He can go protect our claim for Volantis. I figure he can hang out about halfway?

Started a settler in Valyria.

Pindicator started a worker or a settler (from production graph). Hope it is a worker.

You still around, Nyles?

Maybe the lushness is intended to create these difficult settling decisions? I really hope that Nyles's dick landmass hypothesis is accurate.

Bronze Working in 2 T. Everything is going to plan so far. We should probably start thinking about what we want to build in Volantis when it is built and what comes after the Warrior that comes after the Settler currently in production.

Pindicator took 8 minutes in the game and didn't finish his turn. He also increased his score to 49. So he managed to get something.

I wonder if he saw us as having a threatening warrior. That's fine. Maybe he'll spend more time ensuring we're not trying to kill him with a coinflip battle?

Sorry for the absence, been busy with summer classes.

A coat of gold, a coat of red, a lion is still annoying as fuck. I fucking hate lions.

If we move SW again, the lion probably attacks, and in the sim it had about a 20% chance of killing our warrior. Even though the warrior and lion are at 2 strength, in the combat log there was a +5% bonus against barbarians, and a +30% bonus against animals. Don't know if those apply in multiplayer, but a 20% chance of losing our only warrior is still shitty, since if we lose we either send out an unprotected settler or delay it for another warrior.

Still haven't moved the warrior but I think I'll go south to the forest and hope the lion goes away.

Explored the dick a little bit, found some lakes.

Settling the dick gives you lush and relatively safe backlines, but they're further from your capital which is both disadvantageous militarily and economically. I think that the way to go is to take as much disputed land as possible as we plan to do with Volantis, and if possible kill somebody and take their dick as well.

Pindicator's cap is size 2, TBS at size 3.

Hope the classes are going well. I'm not going to be able to get into the game tonight so a couple questions:

Any increase/decrease in production/power/food from pindicator?

Any thoughts on diverting some EP to TBS?
