Consider India's position - they have copper nearby. What is the counter to that? Chariots and AH. This is also going to hook up food - I see sheep! - and also leads into pottery and writing - useful economic techs.
I'd wait and see on horses before thinking about an expensive charge to IW. Those beakers might be better spent on other economic techs - unless your economy is going to be based on stealing someone elses in with IW isn't a bad ploy! Thanks for the reply. We haven't had one since first pages While we are using this thread to let eachother know what's going on, we're also making this to the lurkers.. it would be much simpler if I had entered solo and only posted a screenshot once a month.
We agreed to the NAP with India, so I don't think getting a counter unit against them is the first priority. We did however start on AH to reveal horses and hook up sheeps later on. AH gets double-discount from pre-reqs, so it won't take a long.
Still haven't found copper from the east. Now it's official that it's further away than India's one from their capitol. I'm starting to wonder do we even have it. TBH if I was a mapmaker I would have done random resources too.. it's not as fun to play if you know your enemy has the same basic resources that you have.

From us to Killer Angels (India).
Quote:Hey there.
I thought it might be time to tie some loose ends. Sharing is caring, right. Anyway. You were asking about our capitol location in our earlier discussions. We know yours, so I'd think it's only fair that we let you know ours. You can find Athens 14 north, 8 east of Gettysburg.
I'm interested to know more about the map, like I'd assume you are. I can reveal that it seems to be a donut-like map, atleast the space between our civs. I'm wondering what do you know about the lands south (and possibly west) of Gettysburg?
We also have a favour to ask We haven't yet met Dantski or anyone else other than your civ. Would it be possible for you to muster up a meeting with us and Dantski if/when we both have units available (or possibly just tell us where you met his unit/borders)? We understand if you want to keep that private, but give it a thought. We'd really appreciate the help.

I know, we don't even have a warrior at Athens atm. I don't think they would break a formal NAP though. Sullla's ego wouldn't allow that! Like I said before, they probably figured out roughly where our capitol was, so that wasn't a huge sacrifice. But hopefully they will think that it was.
Let's see what we get in turn.

Killer Angels Wrote:Dear Greek friends,
Thank you very much for your extra information exchange! We greatly appreciate your sign of goodwill, and we will remember your kindness and generosity in the upcoming turns. I wish that we had comparable information to share with you, but as you mentioned, you already know the location of our capital!
We also speculated that the map probably has a donut shape. In fact, we even drew up a possible map configuration, which we are happy to pass on to you:
[see attached image]
We're also happy to tell you that we met Dantski to the south of our capital, running into one of his scouting units. We saw that unit again once as it passed by, but it's been moving around each turn, so unfortunately we can't give you exact directions to find it. As far as Dantski's capital, our best guess is that it is located somewhere to the south of Gettysburg. Unfortunately we are still uncovering all of the fog down there; maybe your scout Cigarettes can help us blaze a path there?
We don't mind passing you some information to help you meet up with Dantski. It's the least we can do in return for the information you gave our team. And if you find another team to the east, you can then help us find them later on.
As always, stay in touch and let us know if there's anything we can do for you. Thanks!

hmmm I don't know if their picture is quite right. Unless the doughnut is oval and not circular, or people aren't spread out evenly then I don't think there would be room for all of us with the spread we have between them and us. I could be wrong though but they do look closer to the center on the left and us closer to the center of the top. I would think the next civ would be a bit on the other side of center on the other side of us. They've met dantski but didn't mention they know where his capital is to place him correctly or that they know the map down there.
They also don't account for the outer land mass or the center one.
Sorry I haven't been participating too much. Other game has been busy :P

Sorry I haven't been participating too much. Other game has been busy :P Details don't really matter I guess. I just wanted to know if there was more land to the west of them, which would have meant that the quarter donut would have just been a random thing. Let's head east now with Cigarettes. We will find someone there, I'm sure of it. Let's head south with a scout from Athens and arrange the meeting with Dantski (and scout further south of course).
I'm scared to log in. Our warrior ended last turn in a forest with two lions next to it. I could have evaded one of the lions by moving to flatland, though that would lowered our defenses and drive us away from our goal of scouting the east fog for copper. Warrior in forest has 3.6 strength against lion's 2.0 strength. On flatland warrior has 2.4 strength against lion's 2.0.

Watch out for those animals if you move our scout.

Quote:Alright. We'll send another scout south soon. Cig is busy dodging lions and bears to the east. It seems that so far the east also follows the donut-style. We'll let you know when we get near your lands, then you can ask Dantski if he wants to set up a meeting.
How far north have you scouted btw? Since we can't exchange maps, we have to set up the borders by landmarks. Or just race for the land. But that probably wouldn't do much good to our relations in the long run :P

Hey I just found out this afternoon that I may be sent travelling for a up to two months for work a week or two from now. Nothing is confirmed but I'd basically be useless for that time as I most likely won't have any halfway decent net connection most of the time and will be working 14+ hour days. I'll let you know for sure though when I find out if I'm really going.
