RP Pitboss #2 [SPOILERS] - Darius I of the Holy Roman Empire

Ok, let's agree to a 50 turn NAP with 10 turn cooling down and see how things go.

In an earlier mail he said we could find Timbuktu on the western coast, but I'm not sure where that is. I guess he's up north, but with a 50 turn NAP I suggest we go southeast first.

Do you agree on working the furs to get a warrior in 3t or do we work the clams? Warrior will take a lot longer, but growth and research goes faster.
My thought was to get one warrior working the furs, then move to the clams and after growth to 3 work the mined hill as well (and the furs after that).

Another warrior after this one and then the WB or the other way around?
I think we can gamble with the WB but am not to sure..

Damn! Our scout died after another attack... guess that means exploring warrior second...

Send Dantski an e-mail agreeing to a 50 turn NAP with 10 turn cooling down.

Too bad about our scout. frown

With regards to clam vs. furs, I would work the furs now that we don't have a scout - we need at least someone out there exploring. The furs give extra production. However, we should time our growth of size 3 with completion of the mine so that we can get those extra 3 hammers immediately. Your plan, if sound, makes sense. I still need to check the game, which I'll try to do tomorrow - sorry, life is hectic. I've put a post it note on my computer to remind me.

When you say "one warrior working the furs" you mean citizen working the fur, right?

I think we should build 2 warriors before getting a workboat out. With a mined hill, the second warrior shouldn't take too long, and we can finish the workboat quickly after that second warrior.

Oh - where do you want our next warrior to explore? Maybe first warrior goes up north a bit and then goes to the gold site later to escort the settler, and then the second warrior is our true "scout." Or it could be the other way around.

Send the first warrior north.

Second warrior will be done in 4 turns, city will grow in 3 turns.
Worker made the mine and will move to fur site now.

Didn't end the turn yet, so if you get the chance to log-in you can change things the way you want them.

Hi DMOC,

Decision time!
Second warrior is done. He could stay in the city for patrol duty or move souteast.
Rolan will grow to 3 in one turn.
What shall we build now?

Options are:
1. Workboat
2. Warrior
3. Worker
4. Settler

What do you think?
Once the city grows we have about 6 hamers per turn if we work the furs/forest, mine and rice.

I think we could go Warrior (patrol)-> WB -> Settler -> Worker -> Warrior/Axe

Do we go into slavery once BW comes in?

And what do we research next? The Wheel or AH? Or do you want to consider sailing to go for that island soon? Or do you want to pursue a religion with fast research working the furs and clams?

Hope to hear from you soon!

Damn!
Got it backward.

City just grew to 3, warrior done in 1 turn.
Working the clams now gives us BW in 5 turns.
Working the furs we could have 6 hammers a turn, now 4, giving us a WB in 5 turns.

Worker started on the camp, will take 4 turns, then the plot will gives us 5 commerce! Together with the clams we're in research heaven, I think.

What would happen once we got the gold online...

Research - not sure. My gut is to research Wheel (connect cities), then AH (horses, resources) and save the religious techs for later.

Have any religions been founded yet?

Ok, so if the capital is at size 3, I would finish the warrior and finish a WB to connect our clams (we need the 4 f) and then start a settler while our capital is size 4. I think that size 4 is usually the optimal time to build settlers/workers. I woudl maximize production to get the wb, then maximize growth to size 4 (if wb is finished at size 3) while building a warrior, and then switching production to a settler at size 4. Meanwhile, if we research the Wheel, our worker can build a road to the future city site.

Ok, let's go with that plan. The Wheel sounds like a good idea to me as well.

WB it is, at max prod, then a warrior at max food untill size 4, then switch to settler.

Maybe BW will alter our plan for our next city. Can't have those axes soon enough.

When do we switch civics to slavery?

And another question: what will our worker do next?
