We have a contact! WarlordDr's scout came visible. I don't know him, but since Sunrise brought him in I guess I should be at least little worried that he might be pretty good. Frankly not the neighbour I was looking forward to see. Warlord has pretty much perfect starting techs i.e. Fishing and Hunting. He is almost certainly going for BW now. and will be there several turns before us. Charismatic also seems a very good trait for this map. No early hapiness resources. And Expansive is obvivously good. His UU is good allowing him to ignore spears early game.

If someone knows how to contact him, then please let me know. He hasn't claimed his nation through civstats and last login here was 3 weeks ago. Nevertheless I'll send him private message and see what happens.

Pigs come visible also and there is lot of hills. There is lot of production potential there. Hmm. should we reconsider our tech path. Maybe go Writing 1st after all and use Scientists instead of cottages. There are lot of AH resources around. The problem is that we've difficulties to produce enough workers to improve the AH resources within 1st 30-35 turns assuming we want to plant also 2 new cities. So I think Fishing-BW-AH-Writing could be best line with current info. After that we've enough choppers and possibly slavery to get us to reasonable worker force pretty fast.

edit. I'm gonna use open and friendly approach assuming I can get any kind of contact to him. At this point I want to secure one of my flanks and might as well try it with WarlordDr.

It also seems pretty evident we make a mistake when allocating 1 turn to a warrior. Distances are so large that no one could have attacked us. Well better to be safe, I think.

It is T7 and still don't see his borders that I assume are in this general direction. So it is pretty safe to assume we couldn't have reached anyone in 10 turns. Nevertheless this is just 1 turn no biggie.

I would be surprised, if there would be large variations in the distances.

There's a flatland next to that hill.

We'll have plenty of time to decide what we'll get after BW after we scout around the capitol enough.

1SE sounds good. I also agree that after getting BW ~T30 many things might have changed.
