Does it make sense to try for *both* Stonehenge *and* Oracle? One thing about the Oracle is that it also has denial value and we could take something like MC which is always useful (we have gold) even if not immediately.

@ Sullla, I agree with pretty much all that. I'm trying to keep the conversation going to make sure we aren't missing any options. Re: lack of scouting, pretty much, yeah. We made a choice (a good one) on guns and butter, can't scout much with butter. That double-whipped spear (could it be an axe instead or is warrior auto-upgrade only to spear?) should do ok scouting.
@ KJN, I also agree that Stonehenge is the better build here, by a lot. As long as we cover the earth with cottages the horizontal growth will get us to the key HR tech in good shape. I see a future with a swath of smallish cities and a gargantuan capital. Hopefully with horses one day soon. @ kalin, I think it should really be one or the other. We don't want to fall behind on expansion.
Agree with Boldly on the Oracle. If the Oracle is still there when we get to, say, five cities, then for sure chop it out. But I'd rather set my sights on getting 10+ pop with the HG, or the Mausoleum of Maussallos.
That whip is into a spear / axe (IIRC, both cost the same) means that we have to connect copper which means ... no warrior fueled HR happy cap. Does that increase our need for archery for the next cheapest unit?
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

Can't we just not connect one future city for a bit and have it build warriors? How many would we need?

I'm fairly certain you can pillage the improvement in your own territory but not the road. So we'd have to pillage the mine, then mine the copper again for the tile yield later. Probably a better bet would be to have another city unconnected, but then we lose on the 1gpt in trade routes and gimp that city as it gets up to speed because it would be building warriors for the capital rather than granary/worker/WB, etc.
Is there any way to 1t Stonehenge without connecting the copper?
Wait really, you can't pillage roads in your own territory? Actually I think you're right, I seem to remember running into that once.
Boldly is right, you can't pillage roads in your own territory. But Kalin's idea should work just fine. At any rate we do need to hook up the copper, since we have no horses in sight and barbs are on.
We can one-turn henge by overflowing from another whip, but it would probably delay henge because we'd need to invest more hammers before getting the desired overflow from the whip.
I have to run.
