Bit late for an Academy, so I think GA would be better use - too bad you can't get Currency in a reasonable timeframe to switch to Consumption as well.

Too late . Academy founded and I agree there probably was better choices available. I didn't like GA alternative much since I don't think I should adopt Conquest before I've Bowyers i.e. it is still better to focus on filling up the land I have before military build-up.

Playing poorly, but whatever. Bowyers probably next - not really sure - might be too early with it since I'm not productive or wealthy enough to build firebows in masses, but they probably would keep me safe and just in case Serdoa stays weak maybe I could do some offensive.

After thinking I'll probably now take the Way of the forests next and adopt FoL immediately (taking the turn of Anarchy). My final Religion is probably either OO or CoE (to get Gibbon or Hemah), but getting few ancient forests before adopting either of those should be worth it and it is not a big detour anymore.

Do you really need it, or is it just a nice to have (important to consider when playing FFH )?

Ichabod does seem to be in full builder mode, maybe an opportunity will arise in the near future (would be nice for either Thoth and/or DaveV to move in against the dwelves ™.

I still think going straight for Bowyers after building 2 xp Warriors, shutting down research and then mass upgrading around a border city would be a lot more fun.

DaveV has Vampires so it is a easy desicion to go towards Bowyers. 5T away from it. I should be fine. Might had to cast world spell, if Vampires try to hit me.

That is great news! The big dogs are going to be too busy to notice you eviscerating Serdoa with a stack of 20 Firebows.

You just need to build one Archery Range on the border, switch off research for the time being and spam Warriors, then mass upgrade and move in.

Would then be a good time to get a religion so you can use the Thane/Disciple units to instantly force captured cities out of revolt.

With the extra land you can focus on your real strength, which is your huge magical potential.

It seems a bit like I should focus on DaveV instead of Serdoa. DaveV has hit Thoth pretty hard (based on losing a city and power graphs). Serdoa is running a full farmer's gambit though so it would be very easy to walk him over with 10 Firebows.
