Furungy's great invasion has begun!
City has 2 CG2 fully fortified longbows and 1 cho-ko-nu, freshly upgraded from an archer. And a hill. And a castle. Actually, I really didn't put enough thought in defending this city, should at least have had a galley with units inside nearby. And also a musket inside.

Doesn't actually look likes it's gunna go down with how many units are inside.

It wasn't even close, LBs have, I think, more than 50% chance to remain unharmed in this situation, they have >20 strength. Furungy didn't even attempt to attack. Instead, he did this:
I attacked out with a cho-ko-nu, killed one of his maces. Also, asked Zanth for a loan to be able to upgrade caravels into frigates:
He didn't accept and didn't make any counter-offer.
Of course, Furungy is committing a grand strategic mistake here. He shouldn't have started a naval arms race with me. Instead, he should have researched freaking Printing Press for starters. After that he could go for some strong economic tech like democracy/communism/biology/corporation or just go and conquer Hum. Instead he is now burning his lead on the useless war against me which would go nowhere - and this is while Zanth now has almost the whole continent for his private use.

Furungy accepted peace the moment I got Astronomy. I have 7 turns to MT, then about 10 turns to build a suzable Cuirs force. After that I will most probably make a move against Zanth. Or attack Furungy directly - this is, actually, an option.
Meanwhile...
Zanth is now ahead of Furungy in land.

These are units in Rotterdam. In Amsterdam he has yet another Trebuchet. It looks like Furungy is going to make a second attempt. Really, this will be just so, so stupid...

Really, what Furungy is doing here borderlines trolling. This invasion he is preparing is fucking costly. To invest all these hammers (and beakers into Astro tech branch) without any hope to actually hold anything in my land is simply insane. It could possibly be a defensible move were we playing a duel; but in this game Zanth has more land than both of us, he is currently the biggest threat to Furungy's lead, not me. And why, please tell me, do all these when he can just go and conquer Hum?
Has there ever been a game trolled by a score leader?

It's really a shame that this game is so poorly updated. It is actually a quite interesting one, definitely more interesting than one can initially expect it to be. It's T183 now and we don't have a clear winner yet. Furungy is the leader but he hasn't secured his victiry due to mistakes I spoke about earlier. We have an uneasy peace now, enforced for seven more turns:
On this picture you can see how he is amassing his battle fleet while scouting my shores aggressively with East Indians. He actually researched military sience and this turn I've witnessed his first SotL.
I have expansion plans of my own:
It's not exactly formidable force for this point of the game but the fact that Zanth hasn't that much of a defence helps (observe signes which I left - they descript his military accurately and this is the most heavily defended region in his whole empire). Prize for which I'm going here is primeraly this land:
It looks like Bacchus was going to attack Zanth too as a turn ago he sent me this:
Sorry, pal, but 13 turns are too long.
Tough times are waiting for me ahead. If my war with Zanth is successful and I start capturing his cities quickly, Bacchus and Furungy will both attack me. Furungy will need to stop me from overtaking the lead and Bacchus will have a shot to take most of the spoils if I lose three-front war. He is also one tech from Rifling now and alredy has researched Nationhood which makes him quite dangerous. Happiliy, he doesn't have a fleet to speak about, Compass is yet to be researched.
In four turns I will have a GP which has 61% chance to be non-scientist. With him I will launch my second GA and use it to research Military Science and switch (temporarily) to Police State.
Is anyone still interested in this game? I don't have much time/energy for updates now but I really want to try to give this game more attention as others basically stopped reporting it and it is actually pretty interesting. It is quite possible that the game will culminate in an Armageddon industrial-age war between myself and Furungy. Should be a fun thing to watch.

Sorry guys, but can't help posting a political joke here:
Me = Russia (poor, belligerent);
Zanth = Ukrain (weak, disorganized);
Furungy/Bacchus = US (rich, indecisive).
Basically, Zanth's fate depends on whether Bacchus and Furungy would want to intervene and to what extent.

Got my ass kicked. Zanth killed off almost half of my stack. I really underestimated an amount of damage which his siege can do to it and also underestimated the number of hitters he has available.
