[Spoilers] RFS-81 and haphazard1 don't know RtR, but won't let that stop them

Planted my second city, Lighthouse. Barbs are already coming to say hi, luckily I have two warriors in the area. I'll need some more units to explore, but also more workers crazyeye My plans for now are to improve the corn at Lighthouse and chop out a granary.

My next tech is Animal Husbandry. I really want to go for Writing, but this is multiplayer, so I want to get my UU.

The capital is at the happy cap already, due to whip anger. I've shuffled citizens to have slower growth and more production. Work boat is done next turn, then worker. After that, another unit (or maybe another worker whipped into unit?)

Barbs showing up. frown Hopefully they will bother the others at least as much as they do you.

What are your plans for expanding borders at Lighthouse?

Barracks produce culture in RtR. I think that's faster than researching Mysticism.

Just played a SP game as the Inca. Too bad I don't have the Terrace in this game smile

The barb warrior has turned around. He should have been able to see my borders, so I guess barbs only spring into action when they can see actual units or cities. Work boat is finished and can improve crabs next turn. Next up is a worker. I found that the expansive trait only applies to hammers...I wasn't aware of that with my first builder.

Yes, the food portion of the food+hammers used to build workers is not boosted by the EXP trait. Same thing is true for IMP and building settlers. So if you are able to shift your balance of food+hammers towards hammers while building them without reducing the total (such as swapping a grass forest for a plains forest), it can be worth doing. This also makes whipping more effective, since that is all hammers.

On the barb, there is a grace period at the start of the game where barbs will not enter cultural borders. That may be why it turned around. If I am remembering correctly, their behavior changes based on the total number of cities in the world; once it is greater than 2x the number of players they will attack. So maybe someone does not have a second city yet? They should attack soon, though, so be prepared. hammer

Neat! But it's also divided out of the overflow, like with the forge, right?

It should be, correct. In theory you get the multiplier, then also lose the multiplier from overflow, and come out even. In theory. lol

We're on turn 43 now. I've got a second worker out and the capital is out of whip anger. Whipping a worker isn't really practical currently: 3 pop is required for whipping it immediately, but one turn of production finishes nearly 50%. So I'm building an axeman now and save the next whip for a settler. My new builder is going to chop a forest. I think I'll put the overflow into another builder.

Because of that is best to whip setlers if IMP to have minimum of overflow, as fast as whip buton alows it.

Farmed the corn at Lighthouse, next I'll chop and mine the hill to get the granary out in a reasonable time. The new worker at Golden Void started chopping. My exploring warriors stumbled upon a barb while trying to clear the black splotches near my Luxury City marker. (EDIT: Oh crap, I didn't even realize that the warrior and lion can both attack! Not that I could have foreseen the lion before my move...I only knew that the warrior was around.)

What can go wrong with dividing out multipliers from the overflow? I think I heard about food-hammers not getting multiplied, but getting divided anyway. Anything else?
