Okay sent the draft. I think Open Borders could be good to lock us into 10t peace but also might let them "map out" our lands for others.
Yeah I think we can't do it because it risks Exploit finding out about our chariots

And unfortunately for ManiaMuse, I have notifications on my email and we can't "unlearn" spoiler info....
Here's what he said
Quote:What should we say to India's email?
How about we demand alphabet for our chariot and a longterm NAP. Of course they would never accept that but they might then understand our frustrations a little better...
Honestly I think I'd be okay with that.

Well you couldn't agree to that even if you wanted, could you? They would have to get it from Egypt, right?
I have to run.

Draft to Byz
Quote:Hi again,
Unfortunately several of our team members have thread subscriptions so we saw your post before you edited it. I don't think there should be any type of "penalty" other than the fact that we saw a note that, on the whole, you'd probably prefer that we didn't. Don't worry about it - we've all been there...
As for the content of your email, I think that you'd be surprised that we're actually quite a bit closer to agreeing to that than not. I don't know what your relations are with Maya (we tend to think of you guys north of the desert as all one, since up until recently we hadn't met any of you, but for all we know they were the other civ that you met this turn).
But anyways, we offered them inclusion in our "group", but they declined. We have actually been looking for one more civ, and our personal opinion (and I can't guarantee that other teams feel the same way) is the more the merrier. It's unfortunate that large games like our devolve into this, but what can you do? Like they say on SportsCenter - "Don't hate the playa, hate the game" :-). I was actually really pushing for no tech trading in PB2 to stop this kind of thing, but obviously as we've seen that causes its own set of problems.
So we feel that it's unfortunate a) that tech trading blocs like this seem almost necessary and b) that they are so dependent on who you happen to start next to and therefore "meet" in-game early on. Perhaps PBEM#2, with email contact allowed before in-game meeting, will show us a different way of how things work with that setting. For all we know, our 2 civs are perfectly matched to be long term friends and we hit it off immediately, but just due to the randomness of the God Sullla's map geography :-), we didnt' end up meeting till T64 (or whatever turn it is now)
So our offer stands. We're willing to even make you the same offer we made to Maya (which is still open to them as far as I know). #1 - inclusion in the tech group and #2 Invitation into closer relations with us as a civ individually. Obviously a 10 or 12 or however many civ group is inherently unstable, which is why I think it makes sense to kind of work together on a closer basis.
Now, to talk specifics - as you probably are already aware, we actually can't trade you Alphabet since we did not research that ourselves. I believe Hunting and Masonry are the only techs that we self-researched that you guys lack. But, depending on what you're looking for, we might be able to broker things for you.
Would you ( and/or Maya if you'd be interested in working together with them) be interested or able in a chat later on today? There's a lot of things to discuss, and email often is not the most efficient way to get it done. We'd definitely be interested in figuring out how we could have some "Fair and forthright trade" or maybe "Mutual military struggle" bonuses with you!
PARTY ON!

Speaking of frustrations, I'm a bit frustrated with people being frustrated about the alliance, especially people who had a chance to be in CAN, but chose CANT. I mean, if you didn't want to play in an alliance game pay better attention to the game setup. If after not wanting to join an alliance you realize you have to join one to have a prayer of winning, join the one that doesn't suck (Rome, Inca, Maya...I'm looking at you). If you join the one that sucks, don't blame a team that tried to get you to join the one that doesn't suck.
Rant off.
