AT loves it when a plan comes together!! [Spoilers]

I think that the timing is perfect for this:
1. We're approaching the 8/10 cats necessary to take out Eden prime.
2. We've got a tech advantage in Knights. Even though they aren't great against Elephants, they do alot of damage to LBs.
3. TT's committed to peace with Jowy so he can't swipe from us, even though he could take a swipe at us.
4. Master Commodore's still slumbering while busy right now.

So depending on how well we do, we should consider shuffling troops over to take Thessia. We won't be able to do that boat through Citadel manoeuvre but, depending on where Jowy's culture is, we may only be 3 moves from Thessia by Knight and 4T by LB or less if its GIII.

And that will be all for Jowy. smile

so, with a GG galley, we get:

Flanking 1
Nav I
Nav II
Morale

and one other. I'm thinking sentry - we don't want this thing in battle, at all, and a 5 move galley with sentry might be just the things to spy on commodores coastal cities.

Kinda hate burning a GG on a one-trick pony, but then.

Don't see how we get Thessia without picking Eden Prime first. that said, we might be able to hold Citadel if we are advancing on Eden Prime - I'd love to hold it if we can - not just for the academy that I think is there, but for the pop points - would be nice to get a couple of settlers from it. Well, that's kind of a pipe-dream

PS: Play it by ear, but if Jowy, takes our 'intended' bait then we might be able to hold Citadel with those 2 follow up LBs.

Jowy's going to be tempted by that triple fork. We know that's what he wanted to do in his initial attack.

Man, Jowy really screwed up with those 3 catapults. We'd be rushing up all of our troops to defend if he hadn't thrown those away.

Again, if Jowy takes the bait, then we need to box him in with those W2/ W3 units after he makes his next move. Make him face some losses to get out, and he'll either commit to the attack or else dither waking around them. Knowing Jowy he'll commit to the attack. He's got a bit of a history on that.

Jowy's not likely to go to ER because its not his city and he can't see into it. He's also facing a decent stack at Rannoch. So survey says that if he tries the triple fork, he'll head to ALF the turn after. And that's ok, given those CGIII LBs in there all fortified up. And we'll probably pop borders there soon right?

Well we'll see how it goes. If we land Thessia with 2 Knights and 2 LBs still intact while approaching Eden Prime, I think that Thessia is ours for the taking.

Alot of it will depend on whether Jowy goes for the Triple fork 'opportunity'. Leaving that tile open may one day be heralded as the tactical genius move that split Jowy's stack, exposed Citadel and won the war. History is written by the victor after all. lol

And Sentry sounds perfect.

[EDIT] I promise to help you find other uses for that 'one-trick pony'. lol

Ok. So I need a time line for when the boats will be where and loaded up with 2 Knights and 2 LBs.

Don't remember where the 2nd galley is, and there is some screwing around - probably 2-4 turns.

Its going to be hard to hold that city. Those or that Knight is going to have to hold it for 2 turns. Those 2-move galleys will never make it in time if Jowy has elephants.

Oh well, let there be a patch of red on the ground where once stood Citadel. devil

yeah, that looks a little grim, especially against elephants. I guess that, unless he tries to hit us, citadel will have to burn...

Also, I'm thinking that, in that case, galley #2 should move south, on Noveria, which we should be able to hold wink

Jowy sacrificed 4 ballista elephants to kill our WIII unit, but he's out to chop that forest and road the tile.

We can raze/take citadel in 3 or 4 turns, depending on jowy's builds - move galley this turn, upgrade it next turn and add 2 knights and move into position, go the turn after.

TT founded a city near the jungle that has a lot of damaged catapults, so I presume he either attacked jowy or got attacked by jowy and retreated.

I honestly think Jowy is just trying to hope I accidentally accept one of his offers. He asked for Compass, paper AND Guilds this turn. Commodore got guiids, too, so if Jowy ends up with it, we know who is feeding him. Commodore traded guilds for gunpowder with TT, which sucks. We traded guilds for 355 gold with 2metra - that was a kind of accidental ok, but he made an accidental trade with us early (for philo), so I'm ok with it. We have two possibilities of trade with cornflakes - optics, guilds and money for nationalism, optics, guilds and whales for nationalism. I am unsure.

Commodore kicked off a GA. Everyone is switching into war civics - Commodore is in OR and Vassalage, cornflakes in Theocracy and caste. We kick off a GA in 5 turns.

I am thinking we just sit in place and start advancing again next turn. pics and more stuff later...

so, a few turns ago, Azza offered us Education + stone for Compass + 300 gold. I'm going to offer that back to him - need to start getting some value from these techs.
