Sounds like an excellent plan.

From looking at the graphs, it looks like ruff has discovered BW on the last turn. I can't think of anything else that would give such a large power boost.

Southern warrior reveals horses and cows as well as coast and beginning tundra.
Btw. The lion did not attack.

I believe those resources (wine, stone, (oasis), horses and cows) are too far removed from our starting position to comfortably call them "ours". I think they might contested tiles in between two civs. So a settler should be sent their soonest. (when reaching size 4, working two mines, pigs and ivory).

I suggest to see what next turn's border pop reveals and maybe move the southern warrior in an NWern swoop upwards ?

I think you mean NE? I expect that the southern coastline will swoop NE, so maybe one more move SE onto the coast before heading NE?

And we definitely want to claim a source of horse, for happiness, security and our UU. I agree we should send our first settler to that area.

Here is a screenshot of the south for our lurkers. It also documents our first (and very short) time at the top of the scoreboard!

Next turn played.

I must say this is a very intriguing map. Certainly a lot to explore and a lot that could be missed

BH's border expansion revealed crabs to the east and little else

Beowulf defended against a lion and emerged unscathed. I moved him 1 NE

Lucplesis moved 1SE and revealed the coast and fish. Where should he go next?

Höpfner began mining the plains hill

No, I thought NW. I feel we should clear another strip of fog along the horse-stone-wine line to get a better feel for the land there. Our 3rd warrior could move SE.

Ok. Sorry about the confusion. Lacplesis can move 1SW and then loop up.

EDIT: Oops, I noticed that you've played the next turn already!

Lacplesis was moved 1SW, and can move 1 more SW before heading NW, sorry for my confusion. It will be faster for our new warrior to reach the south than to reach the west, and we are more likely to meet another team in the west.

Speaking of other teams, ruff has found someone else as we are now 2 EPs ahead. He also has a spike in production, probably now working a mine.

BH will complete a warrior next turn and grow to size 3, timing with the completion of the plains hill mine.

BH is now size 3 and is working our new plains tile. It is set to grow in 6 with a warrior due in 2. Do we want to continue pumping out warriors? I guess Stonehenge is a possibility if we want to make that gambit.

Alternatively, we could get BH to grow in 4 by working the spices tile

Our new warrior, Odysseus, is headed SE

Lacplesis is now set to move NW and Beowulf is moving NE

mh, if you read this before the turn ends, feel free to log in and make any changes you feel necessary. I will be home in about 4-5 hours.

Ok, I set BH to work the spices. That way we go to size 4 in 4 turns, finish the warrior in 4 turns as well. He should be kept as MP as we are already picking up a unhappy face from "no protection". That means we can start our settler after the warrior.

Also, working the spices will bring down research time into BW by one turn.
