Yeah getting early diplomatic contacts and a good idea of the land around should pay dividends. It's worth slightly delaying the second city.

[Spoilers] The Golem Factory: Beeri Bawl of the Luchuirp

I'll move the scout east towards the ruins to see if it's empty or not, if it is I go there and hope for the best trying to destroy it, if not I go south east to explore. I assume Uberfish came from the west/southwest since he said he was going east to explore more. So eastish is where we'll find a new civ, unless we're at the furthest point of east on the landmass. North seems to be just tundra and west is mountains and desert.
Also does anyone know where to find an article/explanation on how the score is calculated? Like how many points you get for a certain tech, population increases, wonders, etc.
I tried searching around on civfanatics but apparently i'm not a very good searcher.
I would ask/pm pocketbeetle, he seems to know alittle about that.

Unspoilt in all (at the moment) Playing: Finished: PBEM 11: Hammurabi of England (Probably Last) Pitboss 4: Wang Kon of Arabia (Finished 7th out of 8)
Interesting thing just revealed. I've been sending a few emails back and forth with Uberfish, building a favorable relation, and he mentioned that the Doviello are west of us, about 10 tiles away according to Uberfish. Thankfully they haven't found us, and let's hope they stay to the west in the beginning. Uberfish himself is as I thought south/southwest of us through the jungle.

That is one hell of a piece of news.If they do find us, be willing to offer whatever it takes to whoever it takes to get out of a bad situation. Buying off Mist, or bribing Uberfish to send aid. You really do *not* want to be the first target of the Doviello. Particularly if you've been spending your first dozen turns building a mud golem rather than warriors. Nothing much to do for now but lay low and hope the wolves pass us in the night. Sciz Wrote:Also does anyone know where to find an article/explanation on how the score is calculated? Search titles only for something like "score" and you'll find threads that focus on it, bypassing the noise. If it exists, you'll find it, or a newer thread with a pointer to an authoritative writeup. I found this in 30 seconds: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.p...stcount=82
Yeah I searched the strategy forums for score and other such terms, but didn't get anything. Or well, I stopped looking after going through like 15 pages so maybe I just didn't go far enough. That specific topic doesn't help me much, as i'm looking for something to help me find out what an opponent has done when his score increases, and unless i'm retarded that doesn't say anything about that.
Kyan Wrote:Things may be different for this mod, but: Yeah I know of that article, but it doesn't tell me the specific score increases (in the bottom right corner of the screen, which has population, tech, wonders and land area I think?) |
