[spoilers] Commodore and Dtay are Sitting Bull of Inca, somehow.

Thought about it.

Zoomed out to the thread list, checked post count. Checked pique meter.

Pique = past reporting consistency * (post count + player skill)

Zoomed in again, remembered this:

Strategic bloodlust during snake pick?

Yup.

pique in the "interested" sense, not the "angry" sense.

Also, whee! I'm adding post spam already!

bummer about that silver placement. Old Harry made the map? methinks intentional food-sharing nerf. Tis ok though, food isn't that lush that you're desperate to split off the corn from the cap. Maybe city 3 goes E of cow, city 2 2S of rice...

Oh, and Commodore: scout more, scout better. Lets avoid another wasitworthit race..

Intuition: some islands have stone, some have marble, islands are conduit to nearest opponent. (Harry loves his Navy.)

Those who cannot keep up will be left behind, to watch from a distance. And those who stand in our way will not watch at all.

Not playing does wonders for my reputation, apparently...

Made me break out laughing. Glad I wasn't in a meeting!

So by my inexact seat-of-pants estimates, we should be about a dozen tiles from our nearest neighbor(s) given the map's known size. I agree with Ceil that yonder stone probably is on someone's landmass, not ignoring that. That said, this gold might belong to someone else. I think I want to sit on the gold next turn, but I'm open to arguments for 2SE.

If not, score! We gots gold!

We need to sim/micro out this start. Flying from the seat of my pants, here's what I'd consider the "baseline" open micro. Mining t7, Bronze Working turn...22ish? Wheel is pretty essential then Pottery, natch, with the other arguments being Hunting (Ceil's cow spot) or Fishing (bonus on Pottery, hook crabs).

Worker-settler-worker might be viable, mmmaybe.

General philosophical note: We're playing this open BtS-ish. Cheap terraces plus lots of early happy means we can must go nuts whipping hard early and often. whip It's our sole snowball boost next to all these many many Imps and Exps. And given the tightness of the map, we need a hot snowball here.
