Doesn't Molach have land and neighbors on the other side to box in too ?




Question is : if it's lightly defended do I pull a PBEM68 move on him or not ?

This feels like PBEM68 all over again, except this time I have no real reason to want that city destroyed. Molach being creative is annoying but not strong enough a reason.




In other news I got a useful hinduism spread and HAK built the mahabodi in his capital (I assume he built the Oracle in his capital and that's where he got the M). Good move on him, I'm still not sure what's the best way for me to get my shrine and he got his t59. Being philosophical must have helped of course.

I think I'll just retreat, let him know that I could have been a pain but decided not to. Could be the beginning of a fruitful relationship. There's no way I'm getting a city NE of the marble now but it's not like I'm going to get land in every direction. I'd trade those spots for a good relation with Molach and better spots against Tsargon Barteq and Krill.

I'm nice to my fellow players and this is what happens ? That's not how karma is supposed to work rant edit : I forgot to mention it last turn but literally 1t after my scout moved east and allowed barbs to spawn on 1 tile of the peninsula this barb spawned, and he decided to go on the tile I wanted to plant on ON THE TURN THE SETTLER WAS COMING




Thankfully the RNG didn't screw me over.




Did you know that fast workers are nice ? Apparently I just realized that, only now did I start to build more. Allen will be following with a settler.

PS : my breakeven beaker output is 22bpt. This may be skewed by the capital working its first cottage this turn instead of a mine.

I killed an annoying barb warrior this turn.




Here's the next city spot. It's not the one I planned, but it's an important strategic location that seals the northern borders against Molach and AT who have both expanded in my direction. I'll whip the settler next turn.

What the hell is this picture above ? I certainly didn't put it there on purpose. I'm keeping it for the sake of posterity though, with the actual screenshot I wanted to put :




Now as to what I actually came here for : I "reverted to human control" as civstats says, and my turn was done before I accidentally retired so the AI didn't do any damage, but I'm getting a "waiting for other civilizations" message and I can't do anything (like deleting the x sign I originally intended to delete). So my questions are is it normal, will it go away next turn and how can I be sure that the AI didn't screw me over ?

Here are my cities :

The capital will doublewhip the settler next turn (it will go to city site 1, see my future sites and their new numbers at the end of the post), then regrow on a lighthouse and spearman before building another settler. AT already has 8 cities, I need to keep up !




Allen is growing to size 5 before 3-turning a FW and then starting a settler. I intend to double whip it, and send it to city site 3.




Slimani is sending its settler to city site 2. I'm not sure yet if I want to whip it or slowbuild it.




I just whipped the granary in Foley, and next turn I'll have precisely 25 foodhammers into the WB. Isn't that wonderful. After that I'll go lighthouse->barracks or barracks->lighthouse, the whale is a pretty good tile and I have a fish in the second ring along with a deer and a tundra copper. I wouldn't even consider a lighthouse without the org bonus, but it's going to give me +1 food on the whale and fish so it will pay for itself quickly.




Newest city of Habana is doing his thing. It's a mediocre city short term, but is necessary for strategic reasons. AT is to its NW and Molach to its east, but it establishes dominance on the whole area. With the plains cow, a farmed FP and some FP cottages it should become acceptable.




Here are my next settlements, in order of settling (probably).







Molach managed to cut me off from the east but I think I want to make him my war target (if I end up in a position to make a war of conquest on someone). It's still a long way away, I'll be going alphabet->currency->masonry->(meditation->priesthood->)CoL from here so it's not like I'm getting any military advantage over anyone any time soon.
