( SPOILERS ) A Minnow Among Sharks- Superdeath takes another swing at it

Lucky for us, almost all of their skirms are badly injured, they can attempt the attack now for their best shot.. but i think they "should" fail. However, i realize they can win multiple 20% fights in a row w/o loss.. soo shakehead

It looks like we will hold, i did a WB attack on myself with his current units and the odds of us losing the city is very low. However, given the luck he had at Mrs. Doubtfire... im still waiting for the settler ( which i whipped this turn ) to plant down south at the double fish site, before moving the axeman away to deal with the barbs. I also sent Compin a peace treaty, who knows, maybe they will realize they arent breaking us for a long time unless they divert research to HA's which just puts them further behind the leaders. Being able to land the worker and rebuild would be HUGE. Although still wouldnt bring us back into the game.. BTW any lurkers know of a game where someone was in this situation roughly ( what pb ) and if they really ever came back, or were they just dead last the whole game. It wont change how i play this one, but it might be a bit of a moral booster.

Closest parallel is probably PB8 where Commodore did this sort of thing, with Pindicator & Scooter on the receiving end. Situation was not quite the same, though, but PB8 is still considered a classic and well worth reading.

Well Compin spotted the galley moving away from Morning Vietnam, and promptly moved a skirmisher onto the copper mine.  lol  Not gonna try to settle that till i get a peace treaty. Two turns away from planting our next city, which will chop a forest into a workboat for both fish to be netted. Likely going to get that city up to settler/galley/archer production asap. Hoping to control as much of the seas as i can before someone outguns my fleet. Also really hating the map for making me have to plant ON silver to get that fish.. cry 

Demos/power are roughly the same.. im in last place in everything but power, and compin leads in power.

ComPin are bringing another 2-3 skirms and an axe. So i whipped Morning Vietnam for its archer which was at 24/25. IF i believe my math/the way that civ works, ill have the next archer EOT as well. Better not be no bad rounding errors.. Also used the galley to transport our sole axeman to go start dealing with the barbs. I figure ComPin will be attacking once these new units arrive anyway, and if the odds look bad i want the axe to have done some work. Besides, so long as its Galley vs Galley.. i can block off access to my island(s) with only 3 galleys or so. Teching iron working mainly because we need metal units at some point and copper seems like a lost cause.

Had a great time logging into this turn. Compin ordered the majority of his units to attack.... and

With that, his chances till HA's is basically gone as i can ( if i wish ) whip an archer nearly every turn from either the capital, or my fishing village down south and sail some archers over. Roughly 10 turns till Iron working as ill have to save gold a turn to finish it. Also, im fairly sure this barb city is working on a worker.. ill have to sim it out how much longer this barb city could be working on a worker before it pops and it starts growing.. While id love to burn it to the ground and use all that food for other cities, i dont have the time to be building settlers yet. My best guess is i can kill 2 defenders, and stall on the last one for probably 15 turns till it grows. My fishing village down south is going to be working on another galley to go explore/prevent compin from using their crabs for awhile. Followed by either a lighthouse, or settler production. Might end up ferrying over the two warriors in the cap that arent really going to defend well against anything over to the big island to fogbust.

Also, incase Compin decides to cut his losses and offer peace.. i may not take it. As his much larger empire will take the happiness toll alot harder i think. Especially if i decide to just settle on the gold for the happy later.

Great news!

I do not see any advantage for us in peace. The deaths should hopefully give them some WW temporarily but I have not crunched the numbers.
