Right, my guess is maybe they decided PB won but wanted to try our Auric for fun. The fun apparently stopped with Airship ownage. Note the irony: ISKANDER WAS RIGHT ABOUT AIRSHIPS!

PocketBeetle has updated up to 1 turn short of being able to rush-build the altar for victory. At that point, Selrahc has not completed The Draw, nor researched the tech required for Auric, and would not get there before completing his own victory condition anyway.

My guess is that they agreed PocketBeetle had won, and then played on specifically to test out Auric Ascended for fun. It's by agreement, so it's not really breaking the NAP.

Aye but on the last turn of the game I'm sure Selrahc isn't going to hang-draw and quarter him over it. Also - isn't there an auto-declaration of war when building the ToM?

From memory starting the ToM causes war with every civ not currently at war, no alignments/relations come into it

I know the AI declares war on you when you start the ToM or final Altar piece (or complete the Draw), but is it automatic for non-AI players?
