Maksim Wrote:Presumably, all I need to do is send the WorldBuilder save to Ichabod, once the map is ready, right? Or is there something more to it? Are you going to use Mist's PBEM tracker - if so, do we need to ask for his help?
P.S. Also, if you create your lurker threads, I will post your starting position there once the map's done.
That should be it, from what I know. I'd like to use Mist's tracker, particularly because he's got it so that teams work smoothly now - he could connect both Irgy and I into the same spot like he did with Tredje and me in PBEM5. If he's not lurking around, someone probably should shoot him a PM. But of course we can start without it.
Out of curiosity and impatience, how's the map progressing, anyway? :blob:
Well, and hopefully we get a forum one of these days. Otherwise, I suppose the PBEM4 forum is as good a place as any for a temporary home.
And a last note - can we please try to have the first FFH PBEM where everyone remembers to delete the turn 0 save before playing turn 1 so that it makes it around correctly?

No need. It would be unfair with the other player who chose him as number 1.
I was just joking with you, because I thought Maksim would flip a coin if both players selected a leader as first choice. But he used the other formula.
Let's go with the little men!

Sounds like I should indeed have pulled out my optimal-pick-assignment program for optimal happiness. I'll show you the output of it once I have everyone's picks. That's an amazing amount of clash for such a wide range of choices. And none of them the popular choices from any other game. FFH leaders seem to come in fashions, everyone wants the same ones at the same time, but it's different ones each time.
Except myself and Mardoc of course, none of ours were chosen by anyone else apparently:
1. Kuriotates
2. Bannor
3. Malakim
I'm trying to compensate for my evil Sheaim pick in RBFFH2PBEM3. Actually, no-one's picked an evil civ this time! I suppose #4 was evil, evil, evil, evil, neutral, and everyone wants a change.
There's a dilemna with the lurker thread really; if we make them now we create more work for the admins when they finally do create the new subforum, but if we don't we could be waiting indefinately. And I want to see my start

We're making spoiler threads in the FFHPBEM IV forum right?
I've got things to discuss.
Before I do... 2 things to sort out.
1. Contact is the norm? No contact until meeting? I certainly wouldn't be averse to trying out something different.
2. Screenshot exchanges from cartography, or always allowed?

I wouldn't complain about something different, but I wouldn't see it as an improvement. Free screenshot trading reduces the motivation to research cartography, and spoils the fun of conversations about "that hill with the sheep near the mountain", "no the other sheep, west of the lake", "oh there's a lake there too?". Free contact reduces the motivation to send scouts out to make contact.
So both those limitations add something to the game on the whole. Limited contact probably more so than the maps. But variety has its merits too.
