So, major problem with the defense plan. Mackoti's city is going to grab enough culture tiles so that he'll be able to attack either of my cities on the first turn, with knights. I'll hurry the sistine chapel and hope that maybe i can get cultural control, but it's probably impossible. That means I'll need to tech engineering and build some pikes.
I just started the sistine chapel this turn. I told AntiSocialMoney that I was building it just to help fight my culture wars along the border with mackoti and Parkin, and he seemed to believe me, so that's the excuse I'll use for everyone. The city will produce a great person in two turns (77% scientist, 16% engineer, 7% artist) and then switch to full production to get the sistine chapel. I don't want any more great people except artists, now.
Kinsale is my new favorite city. I love the combination of Colussus + Maoi.
Murphy's has switched to building catapults- one turn cats! Eventally I'd like to have it work one more farm, and turn that cottage into a workshop. Also, apparently it popped a gold resource a few turns ago and I didn't notice!
Galway has begun making a christian monastery. Time to start spreading those religions. Gotta get up to 9 cities for each of them. I'm gonna tell anyone else that asks that I'm doing it just for happiness and the monastery research bonus. Not sure if they'll believe me but it's the best cover story I can think of.
In the short term, my main goal is getting Oxford up quickly. I've got enough cities building libraries now that I'll be able to whip them to completion the same turn I get Education, and put the overflow into universities.
