took open borders with both siancat and azza. the talk about closing borders with sian probably doesnt affect me when i look at the foreign advisor. with sian and cheetah at war and closed borders with brick dont think im actually trading with him anyway. must ask azza what hes doing with his warrior near boumsong anyway i have my chariot sitting on top of him and a worker haha. have 7 cities now as i founded bramble this turn. damn im a bit behind schedule but i do have a settler ready for the island of xisco when i have a gally built. enough typing for now heres some pics

i got 5 minutes spare after playing the turn to have a think about my theme. even though im using the crap rejected players names the nufc thing is makin me sick. i mean i am themusicman and i come from far away and i can play. what can you play? haha i flicked onto cbeebies recently and they were usin that song

i suppose i could google it but does anyone have ideas for a egpyt song theme or just any yellow songs?

its just another sunday, in a tired old street.
police have got the choke hold, oh then we just lost the beat.

no new cities since last post have settler for the island of xisco sleeping in bramble waiting for a galley. im more concerned about the culture war im having with brick over 2 food resources. got a great prophet 2 turns ago so built the hindu shrine in boumsong to try to regain control of the sheep 49/50 and crabs 41/58. he cant have another city close enough so what the hells he got in hellmouth. now wish id built boumsong 2 tile further south and put viduka on that hill next to the contested tiles



like slowchettah did with cherek. however the religion and obelisk in nzogbia seem to be holding onto the sheep 93/6 even though its in his 1st ring haha



building the collossus in owen as it was 1st to get a forge. thinking about it boumsong wouldve been better or maybe nzogbia as both need the culture boost. but i whipped a worker last turn to get a big overflow off the build. maybe im now getting too whip-happy haha

completed iron working at end of turn and iron popped up where viduka and gonzalez overlap so will send a worker over next turn to mine it. archery and writing are queued up but ill drop to 0% for a couple of turns first.

collossus now built in owen. hanging onto the sheep between nzobia and cherek 90/9. flipped control of the crabs at viduka 56/43 hopefully the sheep between boumsong and hellmouth will go my way soon 47/52. on a calendar run so i can improve the insence and sugar at bramble

yay slowcheetah took my religion and is actively spreading it to his other cities. maybe ill halfheartedly fight for the sheep tile between nzobia and cherek now.

The sheep in the picture above is probably not worth fighting for. The only way you claim it is if your city has at least a whole RING of culture on the ottoman city... that's easy to do in the beginning but increasingly harder as the otto city gains rings. Cherek is currently putting 21 culture per turn on the sheep, which is hard to beat in this stage without wonders.

its late but i decided to open the 2nd turn of the day

first off i founded my 8th city solano last turn north of the gold gonzalez is currently working. the cheeky gits only arksed to join slowcheetah! the war chariot soon saw to that! in fact im a little worried by my neighbours axes on my borders despite rolling naps with them.



oh dear god NOOOOOOoooooooooo! brick just built the mausolleum of maussollos! tell me that wasnt in hellmouth!! if so the fight for the sheep is over as a library in boumsong aint gonna cut it and viduka might be culture swamped and lose the crabs again! dammit!

Engineer? Oooh, big decisions. If there are no wonders you actually need right now, then machinery is a good deal. You're worried about axes? Not with a crossbow or 2 in defense. It's a pretty expensive tech too, so not at all a waste to bulb.

As for determining culture, you can try the victory screen for the top 3 cities of the nearest rival, but otherwise you have to watch the tile percentages. You can compute exactly how many of your own culture points you have on a tile, so a little math can determine how much they have. Look at it a couple turns apart to get a good idea of the culture rate... but it's not going to matter because taking a first ring tile from an opponent city is difficult. Not only that, it gets more difficult as you go along.

You could pile wonders in Nzogbia, but wouldn't it be better to pile axes (or crossbows!) into his city instead?
