I don't know, sorry. You could try asking Sareln.
Merovech's Mapmaking Guidelines:
0. Player Requests: The player's requests take precedence, even if they contradict the following guidelines.

1. Balance: The map must be balanced, both in regards to land quality and availability and in regards to special civilization features. A map may be wonderfully unique and surprising, but, if it is unbalanced, the game will suffer and the player's enjoyment will not be as high as it could be.

2. Identity and Enjoyment: The map should be interesting to play at all levels, from city placement and management to the border-created interactions between civilizations, and should include varied terrain. Flavor should enhance the inherent pleasure resulting from the underlying tile arrangements. The map should not be exceedingly lush, but it is better to err on the lush side than on the poor side when placing terrain.

3. Feel (Avoiding Gimmicks): The map should not be overwhelmed or dominated by the mapmaker's flavor. Embellishment of the map through the use of special improvements, barbarian units, and abnormal terrain can enhance the identity and enjoyment of the map, but should take a backseat to the more normal aspects of the map. The game should usually not revolve around the flavor, but merely be accented by it.

4. Realism: Where possible, the terrain of the map should be realistic. Jungles on desert tiles, or even next to desert tiles, should therefore have a very specific reason for existing. Rivers should run downhill or across level ground into bodies of water. Irrigated terrain should have a higher grassland to plains ratio than dry terrain. Mountain chains should cast rain shadows. Islands, mountains, and peninsulas should follow logical plate tectonics.

so this game is live again.

so what did sian do in his last turn?

but wait. ooh brick is offering to share map. haha i know hell probbaly sell it on but what the hell it might help me anyway. wow hes been busy thats quite a full map.

back to sian.

haha. he moved 4 of his workers under his axe. seriuosly he does know i have war chariots right? and my basic war chariot is sitting on top of 2 workers. ooh this is too tempting. move the 2 promotable ones and give them combat1 and ooh 1 of them can have shock. he moved his longbow back to his city. sod it! its war! im coming to help you azza! haha

woke up the basic war chariot and declared war. captured 2 workers for free with said chariot and also pillaged the cottage for 11g! come and have a go if you think youre hard enough axeman!

haha even better news at end of turn. landed univ of sankore and currency!!

maybe i shouldve taken the bigger stack under the axeman after all. considering i attack sian and then slowcheetah decides to give notice to end our nap. guess ill build as many crossbows as i can in the 7 turns haha

double haha sian thought his axeman was hard enough and attacked the unpromoted war chariot and lost! its not unpromoted anymore.

triple haha! sian attacked my galley with his and lost

now decisions decisions. as he lost the axe he covered the stack of 4 workers with a longbow. might lose a war chariot or 2 but itll be worth it. umm maybe not at those odds! that longbow has promotions that mean he gets 75% bonus from the hill! best left alone. again i shouldve taken the stack with the axe last turn and i shouldve taken cover [if it was available] as the 2nd promotion. damn!

i moved the workers onto the galley so it can limp home. will he accept the cease-fire?
Reply

whoo-hoo! sian accepted the ceasefire. its not a 10-turn peace treaty so he could resume at any time. will keep the war chariots to the south to prod at slowcheetahs underbelly if he does invade in the north.

hmm mustve had enough overflow to complete civil service at 0%. in fact construction will also take 1 turn too haha

quick update in case anyones bothering to read this now

actually racked up tech-rate to 100% and construction and engineering can be teched on the bounce. feudalism and guilds queued but will have to drop to 0% for a couple of turns after engineering completes.

oh and built spiral minaret this turn

I'm still readng, sounds like you're doing really well! Possible cold war with Sian and Cheetah, what other diplo do you have at the moment?

Remember chariots don't get the bonus vs. axe on defense... the attacking axe probably had 50% odds.

cool. umm still have a rolling nap with brick and nothing official with azza

youre right about the odds .. wish id attacked the axeman nad nicked 4 workers although sian may not have accepted the ceasefire so easily

quick update

as feudalism came in i chose to revolt to serfdom. having freed their minds and souls a few turns ago im putting them under the cosh again to get faster buidlings haha. and its a little cheaper to run too than slavery besides ive kinda forgotten to whip recently

damn forgot to queue up pikes and go back to 100% tech. oh well next turn will do i guess

ramped up tech rate back to 100% and i can do guilds banking and printing press on the trot. well just haha

just noticed a gems tile i forgot to improve/work for xisco. sending 2 workers and a covering war chariot over to correct this

feck! so its war with slowcheetah after all. at least i was able to change from 2-turn printing press to 1-turn nationalism so i can draft crap [i mean crack ofc] troops in no time [well turn after next]

heres hoping for some lucky defnce rolls:
