Dehumanize is exactly the needed word, and it's one of the most dangerous things about social interactions on the net, since it has become so much easier to do, subconsciously or consciously.
Furthermore, I consider that forum views should be fluid in width

I wonder if we should state at CFC forums, that we strongly hope that Germans change their habits, but we think that it is too early for punishment threats.

NO.
What's done is done. I don't want to weaken the only moderator input we've had basically ever. As heavy-handed, wrong-headed as the response is, it is, at the end of the day, what we want. Let's not mess with it. Let the German team fight their battle here.

You totally convinced me
Nevermind, I just wanted to bring a possibility out there since my biggest fear is that some teams (e.g. Germans) get fed up of this arguing and that could kill the game.

I guess that could have been a more nuanced response...
Seriously, though, your point is taken, I just think we should let them respond now that our wonderful, tactful moderator has taken action. No need to fight this battle for them, against our wish for a faster game. I don't think they're likely to stop playing. If anything, they're more likely to dare the moderator to take action and play every turn down to zero.
