ok I accepted the deal, didn't see any reason not too, and had to either accept or refuse.
I think AT offered the deal because we're at the bottom of the score chart and doesnt see us as a threat. why not try to take advantage of that? ok, monarchy is useless to us since we have the pyramids and no wine. but why not offer polytheism + all our cash to cornflakes for currency? he's #2 on the leaderboard and might feel the same way. ok probably not, but nothing lost if he declines. remember though that humans don't follow the same trading rules that AI do, and won't mind giving you a lopsided deal sometimes if they don't think you are a threat.
I actually like going for calender here. no one has it yet (unless commodore, the only civ we haven't met, does) and you'll have a great engineer in 22 turns, so why not go for MOM? Plus it should be fairly easy to parlay calender for currency in a tech trade if we haven't got it yet (plus code of laws from cornflakes if we are lucky). plus the sugar will be nice.
we really need specialists. with rep we can research calender at 0% tech with reps alone. I took business cat off the stone for a scientists. it will grow in 6 turns and should probably work a second scientist then until calender is completed. its building a lighthouse but there really isn't any rush there.
NO MORE SETTLERS, lol. for a bit. we went from being short on cities to being bloated and building 2 more settlers very quickly.
I took the capital off the pigs for a scientists. it would grow next turn, but into unhappiness. it loses a whip unhappy in 2 turns, and by taking it off the pigs it grows in 2 turns, same turn we lose whip unhappy, and the monastery isn't delayed any. when it grows hire a second scientist - it will be another 10 turns until we lose the last whip unhappy anyway.
I gave the pigs to success kids. it was building a settler we can't afford to settle anyway. I put a library first in the queue, which will tkae 5 turns. I know success kid isn't much of a commerce city - but it still has food and can hire scientists - we'll need specialists here anyway to make sure it pops a great person before the capital, and hope we get the odds engineer. alternatively, you could build temples and hire priests - that way if we get the 20% GP instead of the 80% engineer, its still a priest we could use for a shrine. I'd probably just go with the library, though - it will give a research modifier and we could always build an academy in the capital or bulb philosophy.
anyway once the library/temple(s) is complete I would hire 2 specialists there as well.
philosoraptor - whip that library asap, farm that corn asap, and hire 2 specialists as soon as you're able
forever alone - library after worker, whip it when you can, then hire 2 specialists (actually go ahead and whip the worker this turn to overflow into the library)
futurama fry - I'd wait one turn, then go ahead and whip the granary. you probably should have tried to chop that granary out before it grew, although I'm not sure if that was possible since we aren't exp. after the workers finish the mine chop/whip a library and lighthouse (since it has 2 lighthouseable lake tiles) and then hire specialists

.
don't worry about going overboard on specialists - I think we have a very good chance of getting MOM here and need to rush to calender asap. we can fire most of them and start growing again once we have calender and currency.
btw, I noticed the great lighthouse is still available. why not start that in the capital once the monastery is finished? we prob won't get it, but we can use the failgold. and if we accidently get it, thats not bad - we get 2 extra trade routes in 3 of our 6 cities, which is identical to what currency would do for us. I'd have the two workers up there finish up the mines and maybe even prioritize those over a cottage or two while we wait for whip unhappy to wear off.
Please don't go. The drones need you. They look up to you.
