Okay, I played the turnset. Mostly it was routine stuff, so I didn't take many pictures.

First thing that greeted me when I logged in

So I started you on Notre Dame. Due in 10 turns.

Moved some workers around, finished a couple roads and farms, continued military production in cities that finished military, and fortified new units in their cities of origin. Also used a couple of the missionaries to spread Judaism to the cities they were adjacent to.

Notre dame, yeah I've been looking a bit at that. Will swap to university, but that is a quick build so I'll see if I get the wonder.

might even be worth whipping the university into the wonder for some overflow if you can whip without hurting the production citizens too much

by the way, I have my dates for my upcoming work conference when I need a sub for my own games.

I will be away from the 7th of October through to the 11th. I know it's a lot longer, so I will still owe you one afterwards. The games that need playing are PB13 and PBEM53. PB13 is in relatively early days (~t70), and PBEM53 is literally just beginning (will be at t20ish when it's time to depart) I will have full internet and email access, so I will be able to coordinate the PBEM53 save as well as contribute to the decisionmaking process, but the actual turnplaying I will have to leave to you for the five days. Are you okay with that?

Well, Ive been Lax updating.

Nothing much is happening, seems people are growing and building and doing Civ-ish stuff.

North Korea of course declared on Suttree again.
Retep was first to liberalism, got the UoS. He'll get good payback from jewish buildings now, hammers and beakers.

I failed to take a screenshot of my Oxy border, but it was very defensive - longbows and catapults. I'm not gonna take any Oxy lands without some real guns & cannon.

What my cities are doing:

Universities to enable the Oxford. I'm saving gold for some turns now. Will continue that until Oxford is built, then do some quick catching up on 100% science. Capital will finish university next turn. I thought about whipping all univeristies, but balked a bit at the cost. I'll do it in another turn or two, should be cheaper then. I probably won't get the 'dame, since I need Oxford first.

I've increased EP spending on my neighbours. I want city visibility on Oxy and WillLP, see where their stacks are.

Otherwise, I'll keep teching and get to rifles.

Fitting, being next door to North Korea, who has less fancy watches and knives, but a heck of a lot of troops.

I finally finished Oxford, to turned tech back on.


Finally making some beakers in capital.
Demo has me 2nd in GNP, hopefully whoever that is is in a golden age.

I can squeeze out some more beakers at the cost of production, but I think Notre dame is a decent build. Happiness is okay now, but my cities are growing still, and I might just need happy if I need to go draft-heavy later on. If I lose the wonder I get gold, which will allow me to run high science a bit longer.

I'm grabbing Alphabet then printing press (which should give a bit more commerce here). I'll build wealth in many cities to keep teching. I estimate about 13 turns till I have rifling, if I can stay at 100% science.

Forget that, I've got a golden age coming up so it'll be quicker. 10 turns maybe? Perhaps I should grab pacifism too, so I can make some great men while GA lasts, I'd want yet another one later on.

What to do with rifling? If wetbandit is far behind rifles, or something similarly scary, I could try to grab land east from Oxy. Quick win versus his old units might work, and I might have enough whipping potential to hurt/stop wetbandit if he tries to intervene.

Next techs after rifling (gunpowder-feud-guilds-banking-repl.part.-rifling+ possibly philo for GA) should be drama and nationalism.

WilLP (mehmet) is also ahead, teching printing press.

I still have a lot of saved-up cash, so in 10 turns, when I use it up, it should be a bit closer. I'm building a lot of wealth.
