Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

So upon recalculating BW comes in on T24, 2 pop whip comes in on T27 and Worker completes T28...so on T29 we have a worker, WB, 3 Warriors and 5 overflow to go into something at size 2. Only improved tile so far are the crabs.

K I've found a better route which goes max production on the WB that gets that sooner then goes max food once the WB is built. The only thing early is the WB except after the worker is whipped and the following turn the warrior is completed we're left with 2 more hammers and 14 more beakers. Not game breaking but more is more right?

Kalin I'll keep working on this and see what I can come up with.

In case you don't get logged in here's a screenie after getting Ellorrs to the grasshill.

My inclination is to head W, SW, SW (all hills) though establishing next turns move and heading from there (as it might change due to land viewed next turn) is probably best.

I'd also consider heading SE next turn and going down to explore if that land heads anywhere's but I'm more inclined for the first option of heading W.

OK so my C&D is very lacking when it came to the land thing. After seeing Rome founded (Turn 2 yikes) the land demogs changed and I realized I hadn't been correct with saying everybody that's founded had a 7 tile capital like ours.

I am fairly certain Rome is a 5 - land tile capital though. I think LiPing moved back to where she started after discovering the grass isn't greener. She's going max hammers (plains/forest/hill) to produce a WB (possibly a worker) but most likely a WB. She's also last in GNP at 16.

@ Lurkers: Question about demogs.

Do the trait doublers show up in the demogs? For instance say Zulu was working a max food tile like us (an irrigated rice, 3F 1C) and had their capital (2F 1H 1C) but were building an Ikhandi so the 1H was doubled...would the demogs for them show 2H?

The results of Turn 3's exploration and our border popping. Whales off to the East and some dry rice to go with the sheep. Certainly a nice cottage city can go down in that area. Ellorrs move is marked on there (SW) and we'll decide future moves from there.

As well we are now 1st in land YAY! jive with 15000 points.

SW next??? That way we get visibility over the lake...

First, thanks to the lurkers for the help and thanks Athlete for the work so far. Sorry for this laconic response but recovering from a pretty bad cold: I agree with moving the warrior where you suggested. I think Ellors should go west and do "deep" exploration to try to meet other civs. The next warrior should stay around the capital for defense if need be, then probably go east. I think WB switch at turn 6 is good, and probably the best way is to try to get the WB out ASAP, but I still would like to double check this.

Kalin,

Turn is played, I moved SW. Will post a screenie later along with my suggestions for next turn. I still have some calculations to do but we'll get fishing next turn so we gotta switch to a WB. I just gotta figure out if we should go to furs straight away or once we reach size 2. Right now I'm leaning to furs straight away but like I said I gotta do some more calculations.

If you get the chance to log in and have a look at the newly discovered land, please do and make your suggestions for moves. I think this next decision will be pivotal whether we should head S or W. If either proves to be a dead end we'll be set back in our attempts to meet other civs.

Hi Athlete,

I looked at the map and it's a hard choice. I think we should move SW to keep the option open for 1 more turn.

While looking at the map I noticed some coast under the fog S and W of our warrior. I zoomed out a bit and came up with some hypothesis about the map. It seems that we may be on a diagonal strip of land running from NW to SE. I was wondering if the map would look somehow like a ribbon wrapped on a torus such that if you keep going in one direction you come back where you started after a while. A bit hard to explain but I hope it's clear enough. Anyway, at this point it's just conjecture.

Regarding switching to WB, I don't have time right now to do the computation, so I'll trust you smile Intuitively, going to the fur seems the right choice, but it would be good to double check.
