No that's fine. I'm not quite sure why the compass and me have had a parting of ways...

New response from regoarrarr:
regoarrarr Wrote:Hey IKZs
That's right - I had forgotten that you guys were the "executioners" :-).* I am not sure if you have received (or will receive?) any kind of diplomatic backlash from that, but from our perspective, you won't hear of any from us.* We feel that it was a totally normal and realistic play.* And we're certainly happy to not have Shaka of Rome on our borders too!* Was he on our side of things, or over on the other side of you guys?
As for a NAP, we are very interested in discussing that with you.* Like you said, we seem kind of far away from each other, which is not conducive to war (at least with each other!), and very conducive to friendly relations (and maybe war with someone else!)* When we were tossing around NAP ideas, we were actually looking for a fairly aggressive one (100 turns?).* I don't know what your thoughts are on that but would be interested in hearing them.
I am on Google Talk at superdoubledan, AOL IM at superdoubledan or Yahoo IM at fonnny@yahoo.com, if you'd prefer that.

100turns is quite awhile- and it does leave me concerned that it simply leaves him open to attack another team while we can do nothing about it. What about a more limited form? Thoughts?

Response from Athlete:
Athlete Wrote:Hello Everybody,
Thank you for the information and do not worry about response time. I know very well what it is like to be busy (especially on weekends)!
We have now met Regoarrarr as well and he has directed us that the Greeks are due W of him. We shall endeavour to meet them asap.
In regards to an NAP how about we agree to Turn 100 on a flat NAP. That should give us both time to handle the initial expansion faze peacefully providing our other neighbours cooperate. Kalin is currently away and unavailable so to propose more at this point I feel wouldn't be fair to him however I would very much wish to continue our open conversations and renew the NAP closer to turn 100 and prossibly institute a cool down/auto-renewal feature in there as well.
In regards to a settling agreement, we feel it might be prudent to give a little our way so you can focus more on expanding into where Zulu was not only as there is more land there but also to deny Shaka of Rome of this land which could be critical to prevent too many Agg Praets running around. By no means are we suggesting the land between us as all ours, just that:
a) you have more room to expand into with Zulu gone
b) the denial value from Rome is huge
c) when we can come to an arrangement the land that we agree is yours you can settle peacefully as we will protect the northern border.
We do have a warrior trying to defog the land between us (stupid animals) and will give us a clearer idea soon but hopefully this gives you something to think about and brings some discussion to the table.
Also we have switched our espionage off of you and onto Byzantium as agreed (which I believe you have also done) and look forward to our continued cooperation.
Athlete for A/K
Opinions? Once I get the chance I'll go through what he's proposing more throughly.

Well I looked at the map of the area and came up with some options that they are probably considering settleing, and some sites that we could consider settling, all done quite tastefully in windows paint.
What are the rules on map trading? Can we email them an edited screenshot of the area, or is that a no-no until writing or something like that?
I was thinking of using the little 4 tile lake as a counterpoint for dividing up the land, one side seems to hold "their" source of copper, and the other would work well as expansion land once we build our first couple of cities, though that particular area for copper seems really loaded resource wise.
I added a couple possibilities for where they'll want to settle, and where we probably want to settle. Thoughts? Derision?

I believe no screenshots can be sent until writing, edited or not.
Though i'm impressed by your paint skills

athlete can settle "his" copper, and I think the placings for "our cities" are good, and I hope he can agree on those terms. However, I would move the city north of our capital one tile W.

On screenshots, from the poll results on page 1 of the Pitboss 2 setup thread: sunrise089 Wrote:Poll 13: Screenshot/map trades

On the game: I'm enjoying reading the thread, though lack of Civ knowledge and fear of spoilers combine to prevent my saying much - and in spite of my silly suggestions, I love your naming theme!

It's okay, my lack of experience in mp strength fits right along with it
