Jabah Wrote:IW : that is quite a good news (both that you have some and that they completely missed their data analysis...)
In MP game, how do you enforce vassalage ???
I don't know about vassalage in MP. I assume that like in SP one civ can become a vassal, but it's not like you can force them to do anything. I assume it's a bit like a NAP, where there is no enforcement, but people frown upon breaking it. All this however is a bit of an intellectual exercise as I don't think we want/need a vassal.
Re: IW -- I suspect that us moving on top of their iron made them believe we have it. It also crossed my mind that they may be fishing for information trying to see how we react. We probably would completely ignore their iron comment.

Hey Kalin,
This is great news about their initial e-mail. I'll have to review more closely and get some thoughts to you. I won't be available again until tonight. How late I don't know yet. I don't want to lead them on too much but I think if we can get something sent off by tomorrow morning we'll be ok.
I totally agree, that us moving onto their Iron, combined with our graph has led them down the wrong path. Also when we completed HBR, we built a barracks on the same turn so if there's any discrepancy between the power values of HBR and IW than that should have helped disguise it.
Anyways Kalin's sent a quick acknowledgement to them and we received a short e-mail back. Kalin do you have any idea about this line:

I haven't a clue.

No clue about that line I guess it could mean we could make peace, ally with them and... conquer all the other civs and live in harmony ever after...
Joke aside, it looks more like something written down quickly, so I wouldn't pay much attention to it.
I think we can take our time in responding. I agree that we don't need to lead them on, but I do think we want to stay vague.
They'll see our power spike so they'll probably realize what's going on, but one never knows. I am hoping that because of their miscalculation on IW we can surprise them with the HAs and they may not have time to whip more archers...
Kalin
P.S.: IW and HBR are equal in value (10K) for power. However, us whipping, then finishing a barracks in the same time along with the chariot moves might have confused them. I now love these simultaneous builds

Kalin,
I'll be around a bit later tonight but I wanted to touch on a couple things about producing HA's.
Coruscant grows to size 4 and will be able to double whip the HA next turn. I believe we should. With the chop coming the following turn this will allow us to get another HA out on T79. That's 3 total from Coruscant.
Kashyyyk will complete it's HA on T77. I believe Kashyyyk should then either go Worker/Settler or produce a 5th HA "just in case". Probably should stick with the 5th HA.
Endor can't get an HA out until Turn 78 at the earliest and that's with the chop. It would also have to whip on T77 so not very ideal. This one's unpromoted so considering we can have our 4th (total) out of Coruscant on T79 I think it's worth the one turn to wait for it. This would put an attack on T84 I think.
What are your thoughts?

Also according to that algorithm using espionage, they've got 14 hammers into something. Probably an archer. They're making 2 hammers/turn. They'll produce a 5th Archer by turn 81 without whipping. We'll probably need a 5th HA right?

Just a quick post: I think we want a HA out of Endor... It will regrow very quickly. Even if they get a 5th archer, an unpromoted HA gets good odds against an archer that is not fully fortified.

Below is a plan for Coruscant and Kashyyyk to builds HAs. The highlights: Coruscant produces HAs on T76 and T78, while Kashyyyk produces HAs on T77, T79, and T80. We would also produce a HA in Endor (I think on T79) which brings the total to 7 HAs. The last HA in Kashyyyk is probably not needed so we can do a galley or a worker depending on the defenses in Athens.
We will have several options for attack:
* 2 HAs on T80, we could right?
* 4 HAs on T81, an unlikely option
* 5HAs on T82, most likely option
* 6HAs on T83, a possibility if Byzantium gets 6 archers
* 7HAs on T84, perhaps overkill
Athlete and I checked the plan for Kashyyyk. If any lurker is kind enough to double check, we'd be most grateful

Hey Cross post
OK everybody. I've got some screenshots of the end of T74. Given that at the start of T75 we're going to pause I'm going to post them later so I don't have to stay up any later tonight. :neenernee
However Kalin and I we're able to discuss somethings and get a plan in place to attack asap.
Coruscant has already produced it's first HA and will produce it's 3rd on T79. Kashyyyk will have it's 2nd completed on T79 and a 3rd on T80. If we attack with 5 they will be in Byzantine territory, 2 tiles from Athens on T82 and attack the city on T83. If we wait for the 6th they enter the territory on T83 and attack on T84. Either way the Byzantines are :hwar1: done!
And we have city #4! :2dance:

An e-mail from India:
Quote:Dear Rebel Alliance,
Hey, how are you doing? We hadn't heard from you in a while, and wanted to see how things were going. Your team has quite the impressive Power rating at the moment - does that mean the war is going well? (Did sunrise's Oracle build do anything useful?)
Please let us know if you've got anything on your mind. We'd like to stay on good terms and communicate frequently with the other teams, even people who are pretty far away like you guys.
Happy Holidays!
Sullla
The Killer Angels
And our response:
Quote:Dear Killer Angels,
Thank you for your wishes. We wish you back a happy holiday season
The war is going ok, but it's a stalemate at the moment. As you said
in a previous message, Athens is a tough nut to crack. However we are
patient and working towards it which you probably saw in our power
rating.
We were a bit perplexed by Byzantium building the Oracle, it's not
clear how useful that is for them. I assume they started it a while
ago which is why they could finish it.
Happy Holidays and let's stay in touch.

And an e-mail off to Mali:
Quote:Hail to Dantski of the Romalinese,
We wanted to give you a quick update of the war. At the moment we are
currently at a stalemate. The Byzantines completed the Oracle,
something they must have started prior to the war. We believe they
chose Iron Working as their free technology, hence their jump in
score. However we feel confident we will be able to contain them. They
have just contacted us to seek out a peace treaty, and given the
upcoming pause we will discuss to weigh the positives and negatives.
We wanted to discuss a bit about your all powerful neighbor, India.
Their rate of expansion (growth/production) is outright scary and we
were wondering how you feel about this, being one of their immediate
neighbors. They appear to be first in food/GNP and close to first in
production. They have already gotten a GS and their GNP is over 100
right now!
We think something should be done about this situation. At this point
we can only "not help" them as a start. If you have any ideas and/or
suggestions we are open and willing to help.
Please keep all this information confidential for obvious reasons
