Hi Athlete,
Sigh, this pause request couldn't come at a worse time
Thanks for updating the thread with all the diplo emails!
I was thinking a bit and there are a few issues I'd like to discuss:
* I think I want the worker at Kashyyyk to stop farming and chop a forest into the galley. Since we'll want the galley asap we won't use that farm anyway. If we want the bonus we have to be decisive and go for it full force. Going half-hearted in general is a sure way to miss things. I feel quite strongly about this.
* What's the plan for the HA near Kas? Getting resource trades with Whosit is not that crucial imo. If we go that way we could board it on the galley I guess. I would like to hear what you have in mind.
* There's a barb axe (!) not far from Endor. Wes should stay in the neighborhood.
* Why didn't we move Ellors on the road? I even left a sign. I don't mind too much, but I'd like to hear some argument.
* At some point, we'll want archers in our coastal cities. Something to keep in mind if we want to build something while growing.
I think this was all

Agreed.

I'm OK with this.

Really it was cause I didn't see anything better for it to do while waiting to head towards India. What do you think it should do?

After we kill Byz. I'd like to trade Wes for another chariot. Perhaps the C2 chariot.

Honestly I didn't notice your sign. Anyways from what I remember if he moved on the road that would take 1 turn and then to move to the next spot 2. He gets to the same spot in 2 turns this way as well.

agreed.

My initial though was for it to go towards Istanbul and join the others. Now I am thinking that it could board the galley as an alternative. I am a bit reluctant to have it outside borders because it will cost money. Once we get the circumnavigation the galley could load some units to head to India, then unfog.

Sounds like a good idea. In this case Wes should head towards Istanbul.

That's a fine argument I thought it would have moved just a bit faster on the road, but again not a big deal.
Let's not forget to convert to religion this turn.

Hi Athlete,
I was wondering maybe if we should play our turn to give Kodii a chance to play 2 turns. I can't see much of a drawback in playing. Byzantium cannot whip an archer (not that it would be allowed) or do much anyway. The only thing I can think of is them telling India about the HAs, but I think they will anyway. They'll have 12 hours in the next turn to do so, and we have to assume they will tell them.
Otherwise, I was thinking that once we make the 2 cities on the border with Inca, we should maybe concentrate on getting some of the island(s). The land on mainland will be there, but for the islands there will be some competition.

Athlete,
I was thinking about sending Byzantium the message below. However, after thinking a bit more I have now changed my mind and I think we should wait until after we capture Ath... Istanbul! In case of really really really bad luck, it won't look good for us I am posting it here just so that we have some model for later and to ask what you think.

Quote:Dear Byzantine Team,
When you log into the game you'll see what will most likely be an unpleasant surprise. We don't want to be presumptuous here, but you are all very good at this game and you know what the odds are.
We wanted to tell you that we regret that things turned out this way in this game. It's definitely nothing personal on our side and we hope that's the case for you too. We only did what we thought made the most sense for our civilization in this game. Since we are members of the RB community we will meet again and hope that things will go different next time
We would like to have a discussion with you on this game. Since we won't be able to read your thread for quite a while, we'd like to invited you to stop by in our thread and have the discussion there.
Sincerely,
Athlete and Kalin of the Ottomans

I was thinking the same thing just hadn't had time to post. Had family over today. As you've seen though I've logged in and played. The only question is promote now? I left them unpromoted on the off chance they attack out. Great way to heal. Extremely unlikely I know.

This is extremely uncanny. I was thinking the exact same thing. The only question I have for you is do we want to land grab as much as we can or do we try and do it diplomatically with our neighbours?

I don't want to send it. Upon capture lets send them something along those lines.
kalin Wrote:Re: HA by Kashyyyk, what's the plan? Unfog the Hindu holy city?
I moved him there to defog as much as possible without actually entering Inca territory. We never received a response from Kodii. Since we are in Anarchy this turn I figured we could just move him back next if need be. I think he should get on the galley to help explore an Island or something. As you said we can always defog inca later.

I logged in and promoted only 1 HA It's funny and good to see we really are on the same page! I also moved the chariot with remaining moves on top of Dice: since they are likely to die, they may try to kill something on their way out.

Diplomacy is best, however at the moment we are not even sure who the islands neighbors are. As such, I think we should just move in and we'll do the diplomacy later No need to tip anyone just yet. Of course, if we do notice that an ally (Jowy, Whosit) are neighbors we should talk to them first.

Quote:Hi Members of the CoW,
Given the previous messages it looks like there is now a trend that
favors India's elimination rather than simply pillaging. I think
that's a good idea, even though a bit harder to achieve. As such, it
will make most sense for both Romali and Greece to go into total war
mode and keep producing troops, as Dantski already said he'll do. It
will still be good to have a plan for the initial invasion force to
share with the other members. Here's a thought: axes are very good to
start with but if/when we manage to disconnect their copper, swords
will become better against archers!
I think that at least one of Greece and Romali should head to
construction to ensure that the destruction of India will happen. I
think that Greece may be best suited for this given that their UB is
also unlocked by construction.
We should continue to work on coordination for the attack. I am a bit
unsure about attacking their capital first, but if it's doable go for
it. I think that disconnecting their strategic resources is more
important.

P.S.: It's likely I will have less time in the coming weeks, but it
looks that the CoW it's going pretty well and we are headed on the
right path.
Empire to the CoW:
Quote:Dear Friends and Allies,
I counted the squares, and it will take me about 11 or 12 turns to reach Killer Angel territory from my own port, meaning that I would have to ship off my soldiers on T89 to get there by T100. I am not certain that I will have a fleet ready by then, but I will make every reasonable effort to be on time. If, for some reason, I cannot muster a sufficient force in time, would the Coalition prefer that I send what I have, or take some extra time to prepare a larger force of Praetorians? The only benefit of a delay that I can see is that 8 Praetorians suddenly landing on their doorstep might surprise Sullla and Speaker when they are already fighting against four other opponents. I will keep you all updated as my schedule becomes more clear.
To victory,
Whosit, Galactic Emperor

Your plan seems well thought out and your force seems appropriate.
It's indeed unlucky that Korea got metal, but I think you are in a
very good position. Only fully fortified axemen will get odds on your
praetorians, so you should be ok. I think that once you start the
action the most important thing is to stay focused until you achieve
your objectives, even though you may suffer a bit short term.
I'll try and comment a bit more later, time has been a bit short
lately unfortunately.
