Quote:Dear Rebel Alliance,

Hey, how have you been? We're getting close to Turn 100, so how about we renew our Non-Aggression Pact for another 20 turns? I mean, relations between our teams have been very friendly up to this point in time, and its not like we have any reason to quarrel with one another. And it's not like you have a half-dozen horse archers hiding out in Jowy's territory or something like that... wink

OK, enough of that charade. We're not fools over here, and we're obviously aware of what you're planning with Jowy. We suspected it for some time now - why would an Ottoman warrior be exploring our territory, and an Ottoman chariot be messing around with a barb city near our borders? - but our scouting this turn removed all doubt. The main question I want to know is, WHY?!? What could your team possibly be getting from this particular move? You've got tons of empty land to settle into right now. You could be building workers and settlers and teching like mad, essentially uncontested by anyone else. Instead you're a million miles away attacking us. Jowy must have done some kind of persuading job to convince you guys to send over half your military to the other side of the world to attack a friendly team and get nothing in return!

Not gonna lie, looks pretty silly to us. I should congratulate Jowy on getting you to do his dirty work for him. smile

I'm sure that you're committed to this current attack, but once Speaker and I fight it off, let's call it quits and get back to peace, OK? You've got nothing to gain from fighting and dying so far away from home, and our team really doesn't have anything against you. If you think we're going to roll over and die like regoarrarr did, you're in for a surprise!

Our quick acknowledgement sent back:
Quote:Dear Killer Angels,

Just a quick acknowledgement of your message. I would need to talk to
Athlete for an official response. Let me just tip my hat at you for
now, and we'll get back to you soon. Per our confidentiality
agreement, is it ok to share this email with someone else?

Thanks,
Kalin for Team A/K of the Ottomans

As stated before I'm pretty upset with Greece for not disclosing India's scouting units whereabouts better. We could have easily have hid our units better if we had known what was happening. Anyways upon further reflection I'm also upset that they found out this way. I was OK with Spulla getting blindsided by us but now that they know we're coming I almost feel a bit sheepish and ashamed...kind of like they way a child would when they let down their role model so to speak...kind of silly huh? bang

Quote:Dear Plako and Broker,

Your proposal sounds good to us, we have no objections. We appreciate
that you took the time and effort to communicate with us and work
together for a solution satisfactory to both of us. We should stay in
touch and explore further avenues of cooperation.

Speaking of cooperation, we would like to ask you for a favor. This is
in strictest confidentiality. We would like to ask you to not gift
India any resources in the coming turns. You will understand the
reason for our request in the near future.

Firstly, thank you for the updates!

Secondly, do you not think that last email looks a bit strange considering your previous message to Korea?

Korea: Hey guys, so we're thinking maybe you'd like to help us slap the romans about a bit?
Ottomans: Sorry chaps, we've just finished one war and we need to tighten up the old purse-strings. I'm sure you understand. Terribly sorry old bean, but maybe in the future!
Korea: Damn. Life is sure hard, but we follow ya.
Ottomans: Hello gents, just to let you know we might have a war brewing. Don't help the other side. That's spiffing. Ta-ta for now.
Korea: didn't you just say you couldn't afford to go to war to help us?

disclaimer: i have no idea why i gave you both random persona and they in no way represent the actual civilisations nor my view of them lol

LOL, but it was funny. I never thought of it like that. Course we could always tell them this was planned well before they ever mentioned Rome, and of course that woudl be the truth.

In other news, I forgot to mention, we have secured Circumnavigation bonus!!! YaY!!!

Quote:Greetings CoW,

As Kalin alluded to earlier our stack has been discovered in the lands of Greece, by India. They had a Woody II warrior use a forest to get to a tile which could spot our units. Of course we plan on full steam ahead, but we wanted to make sure everybody knew. Note that India may not be aware of Dantski's plan, and they most likely don't know about HRE/Rome. They're may not be much point to Mali declaring ahead of us as they know we're coming now but I'll leave that decision up to Dantski.

Quote:Hi DsPlaisted,

We noticed that you have a chariot 2NW of Dina, and we were wondering
what your intentions with it are. There is no need to worry about more
barbarians coming from that direction by the way. For your
information, we intend to take the barbarian city as soon as it grows
and keep it.

Thanks,

Nope not at all. Just wanted to clarify. If you can refrain from
attacking the barb city it would be very appreciated. We will be
capturing it soon enough.

Quote:Dear kalin,

With all due respect, I'm afraid I must decline your request. We would prefer to keep emails between our two teams for the moment. On our end, we will of course also keep all of your messages to ourselves.

Speaker and I are willing to discuss any issues you'd like to raise; there's no need to rush your horse archers into our spears so soon. smile

Rome to CoW:
Quote:Friends and Allies,

This is an unsettling turn of events. Personally, I blame the Bothans. All joking aside, we may have to reconsider our initial plans.

On my end, Sullla has a Warrior in my territory. He seems to be heading towards Kuat, although I cannot tell for sure. The good news is, though, I will actually be able to ship off a turn ahead of schedule, so I should have my fleet out of visual range before he can spot it. Of course, that leaves me with the problem of him wondering where all my soldiers went, but I'll think of something if they ask. I thought about closing borders, but that seemed like a risky move.

Perhaps it would be better for the Ottomans and/or Greece to declare war first, and draw the opposition that way. I'm not really sure. But you should try to kill that scout if at all possible. Even in a forest, a Woodsman II Warrior will still have an effective strength of 4, so a Horse Archer should have reasonable odds.

Another quick note: unfortunately we have a NAP with India until T100,
so we won't be able to declare before then.

HRE to CoW:
Quote:Dear Friends and Allies.

That is indeed bad news. We say all the whips on CivStats and suspected something of the sort.
No time to wait any more, just move in now...
At least your army can park on the border with India and be in their land faster.

Luck to all!

Greece to CoW:
Quote:Hey CoW,

India had whipped alot in the turn before their warrior found our troops. I'm not sure if their culture allowed them to see our stack already or not, but the tiles I was using were as far away as I could while still getting to the rally point for turn 100 attack. They would have found out at this turn anyway when I would move my units, though I had hoped they would play first and then find out 1 turn later, but recently they've been holding turns until the last minute so that might not have even worked.

Welcome to the world of management smile

The trouble with that is that it requires a lot of real life time which we are lacking. Oh well, I guess we have to just swallow it and march on.

Honestly I had been thinking we really needed to send another e-mail to Jowy about potential Indian scouts, however his last e-mail to us seemed quite reproachful when I tried to ask before so I decided not to trusting he would know the importance of it. Now I wish I had tried to micro Greece more as I know I could have. Anyways, I've started a draft for India. Let me know what you think.
