Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

RBP3 [Spoilers] Capac of Mali

I think it depends on where, and if, we get copper (or find horses).

My default position would be 2nd worker, but if copper pops in a potentially contested area then I'd have no problem switching to a settler.

I agree I tend to make the mistake of too many cities early not enough workers. We could always chop or whip a quick settler after the worker.

My feeling is that it might be better to get another Settler first. Either way I think we probably want to chop a couple of forests in the capital.

Should we rename our civ to The Rolling Stones? Also, I don't think we've given our worker a name.

We've had a couple of mishaps over the past two turns. On T32, one of citizens was working a grass hill forest instead of the mine, and now (T33) Keef has run into a bear. He's in a forest, so he'll have a reasonable chance of survival, but I left Mick unmoved: should he continue scouting (I was thinking of a loop SW-S-SE) or head north in case Keef loses?

Do we get one free win against barbs at this difficulty level?

No free wins on Emperor. Only Prince and below have them.

If Keef loses, will Mick be able to go north in time to cover the Settler and new city?

If not, probably Mick should head north this turn. If Keef survives he can turn around and go south again.

I think Mick would need to move now to cover the settler, so I'll do that and end turn.

In diplo, Babylon sent a delayed acknowledgement of our email. Not sure what they're up to, frankly, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for now.

Kyan and Twinkletoes are probably arguing about whether to try to found a city on the tile west of the pigs or not.

Yeah, I'm wondering if Twinkletoes wants to get that city to compensate for their smoke move of their settler: to think that the mapmakers would have screwed them over by making their capital without food just because they couldn't see it is bordering on the ridiculous lol

If they did make such a twofaced Pink Dot manoeuvre, how should we respond? I'd let them think we're letting it slide, but I would make their defeat one of our key objectives for this game.
