This stuff happens all the time and its silly every time. A couple of people are loudest in the settings process, everyone else just really wants to play and then you end up with a game that nobody really enjoys playing. Its happened to me before so I can't even really get on my high horse. The real issue is the guys who feel the need to lawyer in the settings process but there's no way that's ever getting started.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?
Sounds like we need games to be set up by a sponsor, *not a player*, that can be trusted to set up something fair for everyone and comes to the board with the settings already codified, instead of being kinda-agreed upon in the byzantine way it usually happens.
I think it would be nice to have a game with settings established and then the only decision the player needs to make is either yes, I'm cool with these settings, or no, I'll wait for the next game. But optimism triumphs over experience almost every time.

What would also be nice is if there were a number of pre-determined rulesets to choose from when deciding to start a new pitboss, based off of tried and tested settings. Then, if people want to do something different, which is what I gathered was the point of this one, then they'll know before it even starts that it might not work all that well or as expected/desired.
I've only seen what players have posted in their threads, but the balancing here looks... questionable. TBS's start looks almost unplayable, REM's isn't much better, but Old Harry's start is almost approaching reasonable by typical RB map standards.
