DRAFT to Exploit - looking for comments
Quote:Hi Exploit,
You make some good points that close borders can lead to positive and negative outcomes for 2 civs. I guess a lot of it depends on how they are handled. I think your list of questions / issues from your previous email is a good start to lead towards pleasant relations for the two of us, which can only be a good thing!
Here are some of our initial thoughts:
Territorial Ambitions: We are planning to settle near the stone to the east of Bison Pass. We notice that you have a warrior nearby - maybe he can cook up some lion stew to start the city founding party?
NAP - We also are pleasant and peaceful folks and would be interested in considering some sort of agreement to promote such ideals.
Open Borders - Again, I think that is something that we would be interested in. Do you expect to have Writing any time soon?
Future Tech Trades - I think we'd always be open for trades that could mutually benefit both of our civs.
Hope to hear from you soon and PARTY ON!

My opinions on NAPs is that I'd prefer a simple one that will carry us over the next 20 turns or so - that way we don't have to worry about a rush. But I'd rather not sign a "rolling" NAP

I like the draft.
If we aren't choking, then obviously a NAP is a good idea. I'd even sign a longer one than that, I don't see a near term war as likely.

Email from Rome
Quote:
We have met Dantski & Mukha of Cath Bruig, Exploit of Tech and JANK the Mexican Apple Thieves (Inca). Though we have found your borders, we are not really sure where you capital is. If I were to wager a guess, however, I'd say that the capitals of SsS, Cath Bruig, Tech and DJ forms an almost perfect square.
Our mapmakers would be very pleased if you were to share with us your findings thus far, rather than wait for the finished product so to speak. We're especially interested in any information you can provide as to the whereabouts of Egypt, Aztec and HRE as we have not yet made contact with either of them.
I fired off a quick reply
Quote:We're happy to share general whereabouts of folks. Aztecs are to our east, Egypt is far to our south, and HRE is I believe far to our SW (their initial scout found us but has since died)
What I meant about sharing after we had everything was the exact tile locations. If you can provide the location of your capital from your warrior, and then describe the tile(s) your warrior is on, that would work. And we could then be a bit more exact

regoarrarr Wrote:So here is a little demographics puzzle for anyone with some spare time (lurkers? Rowain?) to noodle on.
Clearly, my pop figures have to be wrong, but I can't figure out where I could have gone wrong, and still had things add up right (I know the total population from each turn from the avg pop on demographics)
Hard to help as I'm no C&D-pro myself and I doubt I should help (beeing no teammember and very vocal in the past about lurker-influence) but one thing that strikes me odd is on turn36:
You have pegged france to increase from size 3 to 4 which seems very fast considering that they have just grown to size 3 on turn 33. Now that is doable with a well timed Granary but you consider them having reached pottery on turn 50.
So could it be that it was the incan-cap hitting size 4 then and france settling 2nd city?

Any word from Exploit? Settler is on the move but will be in danger of sniping from Rome or Sumeria. Revolted us to Slavery; the pastures will be online in two turns so we can have anarchy while working the crappier tiles.

I think we should send a note to Rome asking them when they will have IW as part of Krill's alliance? Then asking them to bust fog for our Settler in the name of that alliance or something. A lot depends on if Exploit continues to move east; if he doesn't I suspect something is up.

Okay, time to figure a few things out. First off, I assume this guy should just stay put:
Second, we need to plan out our Settler move:
I suggest 2N, then 1N;settle. Warriors stay put. Finally, here are our two cities:
Workers on are the Pigs and Sheep. I believe we should send the Pig guy to the Horse tile. The other one should go to the Floodplain south of city #3 and Farm it.

P.S. Forgot to grab demo screen; someone please do so before ending the turn.
