Okay so I sent the Rome one and here's the draft to Inca

Quote:Hi JANKers!

Egypt is to our south (on the other side of the dead Korean) and the Sumerians are to our direct west. We'd be happy to broker a meeting with them but your quechua seems to have disappeared? Was the party too much? Was he injured from his mountain fall? Sumeria does have a woody 2 warrior floating around to our north but he is currently out of sight so we're not sure exactly where he is. If you see him, tell him we said hello!

Do you know whereabouts Babylon is, and if they have any units anywhere near us that we might be able to meet?

I know what you mean about things heating up - diplo is starting to be a real chore when it seems like we are meeting 1-2 new teams EVERY DAY!!! :-) So it seems like the main thing in these types of games that everyone usually wants to talk about is Alphabet and trading some of the early techs. We are hoping that the fact that you have not mentioned that with us is an oversight and not any sort of indication that you are already part of a tech trading bloc that does not include us and whose space is filled!!

Hope to hear back from you soon and PARTY ON!

Anyone have any suggestions on how we can reply back to Exploit without giving the impression that we're rejecting his NAP since uhhh that's kind of what we're doing?

The best that darrell and I have come up with is something along the lines of proposign OBs in game, then emailing saying we've done so, and providing that as "good-faith" since that will come with an auto 10-turn cool down.

C&D is speculating that Bison Pass, having just grown to size 2, is building a worker or settler. Could make sense if it's a settler, since his capital is probably building a library to hire scientists and he probably wants to settle his 3NW Stone city ASAP.

Incan reply looks good; I went ahead offered Exploit OB in game.

Sent the following to the "inner" group which desperately needs a name

Quote:Hi guys,

Even though there's not a whole lot that we are able to do in that theater, we just wanted to say that we're with you and we will be keeping our ears open. Additionally, once I get a sec to comb through the C&D info that ruff sent, I will let you know what we find out about the Incan power.

We also wanted to let you know that we may be doing the Exploit "Choke to delay Alpha" on our own, since Rome seems to want to wait for Praets and Portugal doesn't seem to have horses. So we may not be able to provide an expensive tech next round, but hopefully our military contributions will be seen as having value as well. Just wanted to keep you guys updated and PARTY ON!

Also based on darrell (the scapegoat)'s feedback, I sent the draft to Inca. @sooooo and sunrise - I know things are movign awful fast now but this is a crucial time and we didn't want to wait and get passed by.

Went ahead and sent this to Ottomans -

Quote:Hi A4,

Wait a minute, isn't that a paper size?!?! And yes, our miraculous wooden pillars are quite the sight to see! We will have to stop by your capital sometime to see if you have anything nearly as awe-inspiring! And you should see what happens when things get out of control during one of our parties - you can get out on the Woodhenge and ... well... maybe I shouldn't say..... :-D

As for other wonders, we haven't really talked about it that much. In just internal team bull sessions, we've thrown out reasonable ideas for completing every wonder out there this side of The Internet. We even talked some early on about going for the Great Lighthouse, though somehow I don't think that we'll end up building that one smoke

And that is excellent news to hear we can expect Pottery by BTTD. We had wanted to go for that next but we were convinced to hold off as you guys would have it. And yes we will be providing Masonry and also have Mysticism and a few other things that we can give out.

As for our "inner" group, as you probably imagined from our group email a bit ago, yes that is my understanding (us, you, Aztecs and HRE). We don't have a good name yet (and definitely we need one!!)

PARTY ON!

Draft to Exploit - next I will try and crank out some C&D work

Quote:Hi Exploit,

First of all, apologies for not getting back to you last night. I meant to send you something after we settled the city to let you know. As you can see from CivStats we held off as long as we could, hoping that we could work something out with you, and ended up on Krill's "last to play" list (again...). In the end, as last to play, we decided that we needed to settle somewhere, and ended up deciding on the stone.

We also feel that the 2 plains tiles are not worth the war and are happy that you also agree. We remain willing to let you culturally control the tiles and even chop the forests if you feel like it, and are willing to discuss exact terms on that.

As for the NAP, 2 of our other teammates have expressed a few concerns about some of the exact terms of such a "game-long" NAP and so we'd like to continue to negotiate that. In a twist of irony, 1 of them wants a longer cool down period and 1 wants a shorter one :-).

But to show good faith, we have proposed Open Borders in-game this turn (T55) and, assuming our knowledge of in-game Civ mechanics is correct, that should lock us into at least a temporary 10turn automatic peace / cooldown, so neither of us has to worry about being bumrushed during negotiations.

Is this acceptable?

Quick notes to

Krill
Quote:Hi Krill,

While thinking about potentially having to go it alone vs. Exploit, I was wondering if you had your horses hooked up (3rd rign to the capital, right), and whether you might be able to trade them to either us or Portugal. The river near your 2nd city goes all the way up to Happy Hour, so shouldn't we be able to trade resources once one of us has Sailing?

and Portugal
Quote:Hi Dantski / Muhka

While thinking about potentially having to go it alone vs. Exploit, I was wondering if you might be able to get a horse resource from another source? I sent a quick note to Krill, since he might be able to trade his - we're connected by rivers, so shouldn't we be able to trade resources once you trade us Sailing on T63?

Potentially he could gift us his horse and we could gift you ours, allowing us both to do chariots. Or I didn't know if you might be able to hook up to another civ (HRE?")

Anyways just a thought

Draft looks good to me; it is nearly impossible to not tip him off, but let's just delay it as long as possible.

Quick reply from JANK

Quote:Hi DJ's,

Our Quecha found tracks of wild animals and is following them, but he will return in due time!

We haven't met Babylon yet, I believe, though we met some others. Currenty Kysan and the Ottomans.
What a trouble keeping up with everyone and everything.

Not mentioning tech trading is an oversight.
We are a but occupied at the moment, as you surely can imagine.
But of course we'd like to be part of a tech trading block. Is there anyting you have in mind and/or are organising?
