Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

Map and Lurker Thread [SPOILERS]

Actually I haven't seen the full map but the oil situation looks dicey. All 1 tile islands or sea based?

Thanks for reminding me, GJ's tool sims up to turn 145, so of course it doesn't consider the lategame strategic resources. Let me go back and check that now... I think it would be best to give everyone one safe land-based oil as well, the water-based ones are probably from the original map generation.

I don't think CHM is great here, as everyone has access to 3 ancient and 5 classical happiness resources, and every one is available on the map, though not to all players. There admittedly aren't a ton of extra copies to trade, so maybe that could come up?

- Everyone now has oil at their Horse city.
- Kublai Khan of Babylon -> Kublai Khan of Egypt

I think the players have waited long enough. Thanks so much to everyone who left feedback and made suggestions.

Looks like ipecac decided not to SIP. That's on me, I initially checked to make sure no one could secure a much better plains hill, but then I moved the copper/horse locations closer to the capital and enriched them, without checking how that would then affect capital sites.

It's not the end of the world - he has picked up more brown now, lost the river fresh water bonus and lost a turn for a 5/0/1 tile, unless he has gained horses/copper there? Even so for a beuro cap it has less rivered tiles also.

No, the horse and copper are further away, 4-5 tiles from the original capital spot. He's moved closer to them but not enough to invalidate good spots for them. It might not be a huge issue over the course of this game, but I wanted to leave that as a reminder for any future maps I make.

I find it interesting that everyone seems to have opted to scout deep. There could be a larger-than-expected variation in how long it takes them to find their copper and horse sites. They're all within ~6 tiles of the capital, so it shouldn't be a huge deal, but I thought people usually circle around the capital once to identify second city sites before sending them farther afield.
