Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

RBP3 IT Office - Email and technical issues

I have had enough. There is a core group of influential old-guard players on RB that are overtly hostile towards me. This same group esentially controls the definition and interpretation of the rules, which they have made so completely byzantine that rules designed to prevent double moves become their tools to legalize their own double moves.

The environment here on RB is completely toxic towards me so I am resigning from this game and from these forums. My overall RB experience has not been fun nor has it been welcoming however there are several individuals which I enjoyed meeting here and hopefully I will get a chance to play with them again in a friendlier more inclusive environment.

I hope you can all sort this out.

DoW using the RB3 forum is a little lame - esp when a player is logged in playing a turn. You want first half - you play first half, if the window of opp closes tough shoite. You try next turn. Such is life.

You'll appreciate that to the uninformed bystander it looks like team DJ are trying to pull a fast one as they got caught on the hop, whilst perhaps Expliot is pulling it right back and messing with the turn order.

Thats how it looks before you get your panties in a twist.

Yeah I agree, I think a compromise is in order... Come on guys, we can't be having this crap every time there's a war declaration!

Quitting is wrong Exploit.

And as for suggesting that RB is controlled by an old school clique that makes up rules that no other pitboss playing forum would even consider using, that may well be going a step too far. shhh

It might be how it looks, but that isn't the reality. I know there have been tons of posts on this subject and it is hard to sort through all of them, so I will try to summarize.

1. We moved in the first half of the turn the turn prior to DoW. That's the only thing the rule requires of us.

2. In terms of "good faith", we moved as early as we possibly could to give Sumeria the most time to react. It worked; Sumeria logged in for 30 minutes AFTER we had moved. They had plenty of time to take action.

3. We can't control the fact that Sumeria logs into the game before we get a chance and almost immediately ends turn. We played as early as we could and did not wait until the very end of our half. That's what we control.

4. The intent of the rule is to give Sumeria enough time to react to our moves, WHICH WERE INVISIBLE TO HIM BECAUSE IT WAS A SINGLE MOVE ATTACK NOT A DOUBLE MOVE ATTACK (apologies for the shouting). If it was a double move attack, during their 30 minute login last night they would have seen it and done something about it.

I'd really love to know what we could have done differently huh.

Your suggestion (and another persons, can't remember who) would be acceptable to us. Exploit deserves to make his turn in response to our DoW, and we deserve the right to the first half of the turn. Since he did a fast end turn, a reload is the only way for both of those to happen.

No offence DJ but you can shout all you like, your still speaking from a biased position, therefore anything you say may be taken wth a pinch of salt, true or otherwise.

Personally i'd not have wasted time messing about on teamspeak, i'd have PLAYED MY TURN. After all thats what we are all here for is to play a game.

Anyway i've caused enough trouble for myself lol , i'll leave you to sort this mess out.

In my opinion, it seems that DJ have acted as best they could within the rules. Does that work to their advantage? Possibly it does. But I do not think that we can begin to attempt to penalize a team for acting within the rules becuase it benefits them. No set of rules can remove all potential beneficial situations. And if they did, we could just call the game a tie and be done now.

That's like saying debate is a waste of time! Of course everyone speaks from their own perspective, that doesn't mean you shouldn't listen to them. It just means you should listen to them with a critical ear wink.

You have 2 ears and one mouth. Therefore a good leader will listen twice as much as he shouts.

I'm always listening lol
